Busy Day In Court For Ex-USC Employees

Former USC senior associate athletic director Donna Heinel, former water polo coach Jovan Vavic, ex-women’s soccer coach Ali Khosroshahin and ex-women’s soccer assistant Laura Janke are in a Boston federal court today for the first appearance in the college admissions scandal. Also there is former USC men’s volleyball coach Bill Ferguson, who is the women’s volleyball coach at Wake Forest.

Heinel, Vavic, Khosroshahin, Janke and Ferguson pleaded not guilty.

The one lawyer who has been willing to talk is Shaun Clark, who represents Ferguson.

“No one got into Wake Forest who didn’t earn it,” Clark said.

Assistant U.S. Atty. Eric Rosen advised those involved of the charge (racketeering conspiracy) and the penalties, up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or 2x the gain or loss, whichever is greater.

Below is Heinel showing up for the hearing.

  1. Was Lynn Swann, Pat Haden, Max Nikias or Michael Quick present to lend support to these former USC employees ? Boy, I used to think that Lane Kiffin was the biggest fuck up to show his face on campus, but these others really are. What an example of gross negligence, if not conspiracy. And to claim that USC is a victim is pure bullshit There were not low level employees acting as cafeteria workers or maintenance people, but people in high positions who wielded the power to admit or deny admission to potential students. The NCAA needs to weigh in on this mess.

      1. Ever the gentleman, Pudly —-‘amusing’ is a nice way of putting it. Just be thankful that “Proud” didn’t mention “death penalty” 85 times in a row again.
        P.S.
Given the state of today’s news, I guess we won’t be hearing from Charlie, Ted or Miguelito for a while —they’ll be in mourning until it’s time to get fired up for 2010.

  2. Piss on the NCAA. They are as worthless as tits on a bull. You got the FBI involved in this circus, who needs the corrupt and morally bankrupt NCAA?

That’s not including bizarre sentence structure. I’m also not including the quasi ethical innuendo of ‘conspiracy theory’ injected into this high school example of English.

    1. English is required in college
    2. This person did not go to college.
