Actress Felicity Huffman was among 13 parents who plead guilty in the college admissions scandal today.
“I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly,” Huffman said in a statement.
I wonder if Lynn Swann is monitoring this from the Masters?

- Lane Kiffin wants to rebuke Nick Saban, apparently, but this tweet interested me because I remember how much he wanted Matt Barkley to come back for his senior season, which turned out to be a mistake. So maybe Kiffin learned from that?

Speaking of Kiffin, he told the Athletic he was glad USC brought back Helton.
“It’d be like if Alabama was in New York City. I think it’s why so many people were surprised they kept him for another year. … That place doesn’t have patience. I’m happy they did.”
- The USC baseball team had its best weekend of the season when it took 2 of 3 games against No. 7 Arizona State. It might be too late for Dan Hubbs but it’s good for the players to win some games.
- “If we can continue to play like we did this weekend, swing the bats, and have those kinds of at-bats up and down the lineup, I like where we’re going to end up,” Hubbs said.

If Ms. Huffman is truly sincere, then she is making a step in the right direction. I don’t know if she is doing this to ease the pain and make her sentence lighter or is she truly contrite. Only God and her know. But I am hoping for the best for her. I hope others follow suit and do the same.

Petros Papadakis was all over Saban’s commenst today around 3:10 pm noting how the AL players flame out rather quickly in the NFL due to being physically worn out by Saban’s regimen. He agreed with Kiffin’s sentiment “…better to garner some contract than be further weakened by a coach who has no clue how to get players ready for a league he once coached in.”

I have been wondering when will the high school academic counselors from these high schools who, somehow someway, were not aware of the students they had dealt with for 4 years (9th – 12th) suddenly getting accepted to these top tier schools, are going to be looked at? The one academic adviser at Marymount HS that Lori Loughin’s daughter attended was smart enough to say “…for the record” in a phone conversation to her father that he was claiming she played for a soccer team/club since she hadn’t at Marymount HS.
Stanford expelled the student that got in on the sailing team and yet the question is now going to crop up what were the duties of these coaches re. fundraising for their respective programs?
