USC Morning Buzz: LSU Hires Kenechi Udeze

Former USC defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze has been hired as a defensive analyst at LSU. The move reunites Udeze with his college position coach, Ed Orgeron.

Udeze has been looking for a job since Clay Helton fired him after last season.

  • Someone I know who is close to several members of the Board of Trustees said Lynn Swann was told new president Carol Folt would “frown upon” him attending last weekend’s Masters. If true, Swann must really be wondering about working under such brutal conditions.
  • Donna Heinel, the key USC figure in the college admissions scandal, has listed her Long Beach home for $1.9 million. Heinel bought the house in 2012 for $1.2 million. Former USC water polo coach Jovan Vavic has listed his Palos Verdes home for $2.5 million.

  1. KU was not the problem the last 2 yrs but he got the axe anyway…helton meant it for evil to cover the disaster he has been, but BIG ED changed all that …he knows.

  2. Clay Helton doesn’t have a clue about evaluating coaches, because he’s always been a figurehead clown on everybody else’s staff. He should have fired Neil Callaway after his first season, but he waits 3 years, and fired him after Lynn Swann made the decision for him . So there’s a silver lining in all of this for KU, because now he’s on a real coaching staff, and a much more competitive team

    1. The crazy thing about Udeze going to Ed O’s staff at LSU is that USC could have easily had Ed O as their head coach back in 2013. And Coach O wanted the job, too.

      But Haden thought Sarkisian would be a better hire. And now, Sark is bouncing around between assistant jobs while Ed O has the HC job.

      I will never, ever for the life of me understand why Haden thought loser Sark was a better hire than fiery and competitive Orgeron.

      1. Don’t forget, St. Pat paid U-Dub a colossal, upfront $$$$$ premium to “steal” Sark.

        To this day, the U-Dub athletic dept. refers to the gullible Haden as “The SUCC Rube.”

      2. I just posted an article not an opinion…but they are scared and rightly so. Huffman who only paid to alter sat scores and plead guilty is looking at 4-10 mos, these knuckleheads got involved with tax evasion and graft, and their daughters have been sent notice that they’re now subjects of this investigation too.
