Federal prosecutors are looking to see if former USC athletic director Pat Haden was involved in the College Admissions scandal, according to the Wall Street Journal.
A source told the Wall Street Journal that Haden introduced Donna Heinel to William “Rick” Singer, the mastermind of the college admissions scandal.
“Mr. Haden brought Ms. Heinel into a meeting already under way on campus in his office, where Mr. Singer was present, the person said, and described Mr. Singer as someone Ms. Heinel should work with because he could “bring development to the school”—wealthy families willing to make donations to the USC. At the time, the department was under “tremendous pressure” to raise money, the person said.”
Haden’s son-in-law told the paper that Haden had not been contacted by federal prosecutors.
“Like many people, I was introduced to Mr. Singer several years ago by a friend. I was unaware of his illegal activities and had no ongoing relationship with him whatsoever,” Haden told the Journal through his son-in-law.
Remember in the original affadavit how it said Mossimo Giannulli, the husband of Lori Loughlin, traveled to Augusta National Golf Club with the USC athletic director. Was it Haden or Lynn Swann? Maybe this provided a clue.
