When I saw the video of the billionaire who shoved Raptors guard Kyle Lowry at the NBA Finals last night, I thought, “I bet he has a USC connection.”
Little did I know how connected Mark Stevens is to USC.
Stevens, who attended USC, is a member of the Board of Trustees and has donated more than $100 million to USC, including $10 million for the Stevens Academic Center, which is part of the athletic dept. He also donated money to the Caruso Catholic Center, which Board chair person Rick Caruso got built.
Oh, and look below, he also knows USC athletic director Lynn Swann.

Whatever is going on a the top,it hasn’t filtered (that much) to the bottom. At least according to Norm Steele, Chris Steele’s father who said that the one thing about USC is that they have been totally honest and forthcoming and have never had tried to hype anything. Apparently, Helton isn’ all Gomer all the time.

I’ve met Mark Stevens. Very successful and extremely competitive guy who did a LOT to raise the national profile of the USC School of Engineering, especially here in The Valley. I can only imagine he must have been pretty F’ed up and feeling it when he shoved Lowry.

Taking nothing away from his success, I have to say for a man at his pinnacle of success, understanding the world we live in today, to shove an opponent player is the most foolish thing in a long time.
