It took awhile but here is how USC plans to honor the 1969 and 1994 teams since the Salute to Troy dinner was canceled that usually honors past teams.
USC is scheduled to have a fall scrimmage at the Coliseum on August 17 from 4-6 p.m. Before the scrimmage, those former players who are in attendance will have their names announced.
This is a pretty no-frills version of what used to happen, when the teams would gather at Heritage Hall before the Salute to Troy and then go up on stage during the Salute to Troy.
They won’t even be allowed on the field at the Coliseum for the scrimmage or gather in the new Tower that has plenty of facilities for a pre-scrimmage event.
Already, several members of the ’69 and ’94 said they will skip the scrimmage based on the Spartan ceremony.
What a slap in the face to the real USC student athletes by the lazy, stupid, visionless, incompetent, mercenary paid help.

You forgot classless, assinin, worthless, waste of space and money, and no good son’s of b******s. They should be lined up and shot and charge the family for the bullet, time, and effort by the people doing the shooting. What a slap in the face.

I wonder if Lisp Swann is going to be done with his golf game at Riviera Country Club in order to attend

I have attended two or three scrimmages during the Helton era. They are both boring and redundant. They’re run as if we only have 55 players suited up. This was because Helton’s teacher was under sanctions and very mindful of injuries.
So I am left wondering why anyone would come sit in the August sun to watch a bunch of grown men play pattie-cake ?
Getting into the tower will be no thrill, because it will just be showing the peons where their ticket price increases will be stored. Autographs might be worth the price but only if the first string stays out on the field. The whole thing sounds half baked and I am not sold yet.

“This was because Helton’s teacher was under sanctions and very mindful of injuries.” Sark ran lite practices while at UW. He believed it cut down on injuries. He may have also influenced ch.

He ran light practices because it cut into his drinking time

MG – even the Mule picked up on the sticking with a theme (given he is our ‘lite’ weight troll)!

The lite practices were likely a good idea for 2012, 2013 and maybe 2014.
But at some point you have to go back to tough practices. Can’t rely on lite practices now even when you’ve come back close to full strength.
Some day you’re going to have to turn the page. Why not now?

Hey Rialto, you should get the Alligators autograph for a historical keepsake. He may be the first toejam QB to engineer four consecutive losing seasons.

Mule-perhaps we’ll know in a couple of years…whereas speaking of four consecutive losing seasons and authors thereof…fill in that blank (no, not your mind) for yourself…while enjoying this season (of course, we are likely going to be right there next to you on in the flock of shame).

In this instance (grudging…hmph-hmph…grudging), you may well have a point…as promising as the NFL prospects are, this could be anything but a year for the City of Angels in the collegiate ranks…

Given last year’s record, I would have thought they would go all out to celebrate the 1969 and 1994 teams to highlight the great tradition of the Trojans.

I’m hoping no one shows up on 8/17/19. It would show the support for the school, team, and coaches. If fans are not behind the team, then Folt will have to make a move quickly to gain the fans back.

Dear Pisley, I’m wondering what the bozo W/L record is for their 24 ESPN Game Day spotlights.
I remember the last one: Alabama vs Felony U at Tixas Stadium – the bozo shock the world humiliation.
