Discuss The USC-Washington Game

USC has only two QBs warming up today: Matt Fink and Brandon Perdue. Imagine seeing a No. 27 (Perdue) at QB for USC.

      1. The one fall camp stat this staff chose to ignore was total interceptions thrown in the camp….that’s usually one area starters are named..I believe Jack threw only 1 interception the entire camp…not sure, but close…the next quarterback had probably 7 or 8 minimum…

  1. UDub slams it in standing up. I think the Clownster’s need a player with a fat finger to plug the bozo leaky defense.

      1. I love the way Bozo Helton proved to the world today, that he’s an idiot. Did he really take Markese Stepp out of the game inside the 5 yard line ? 😂 Even a Pop Warner coach would have used him as a decoy , but as usual, Bozo had better ideas 😂😂😂

  2. If they tarmac Helton today the players will take the blame. But the players didn’t coach the line to disappear during the offensive possession. It isn’t the players who took too much time to send in the play. From the coin toss this game has been mismanaged. Let the players take the blame, but we know who orchestrated this game.

  3. Another road game where Helton doesn’t have his team prepared for the hostlie crowd noise. Way to go Coach Helton way to earn that 3 million dollar a year salary.

  4. Can anyone on USC tackle anyone below the waist. Miss tackles left and right. Number 21 needs to see the bench for a while his tackling is atrocious. If he knew had to tackle. USC would have more stops on third down. It’s fundamentals. You tackle the legs then the runner with the ball wiil fall. Houston 10 as well. The coaches don’t change anything in practice as far as tackling during the week.

    1. they even admit they do not practice like tackling required in a game, same for ‘O’ line blocking,it is not like any one will ever pancake any one.
AND they know they will face defenses that are like Wash/ BYU…the 3/8 zone…which is almost impossible to only pass against; a team must run and have a q/b that is a threat to run…SC did it a few times vs WASH.

  5. Half-time comments by: Bush, Quinn, Leinart and Meyer. Meyer makes a good point abut Fink being in a huge opponent stadium and why is it the OC (Harrell) had him throw down the middle of the field – pick….Leinart comes in like a NYY fan if anyone mentioned Jeter and his fruit basket and signed baseballs for his procured bimbos…Fink threw a pass he shouldn’t have.

I don’t see this ‘foursome’ lasting beyond the season but who knows

  6. Fink chucks a rude, ugly, goalline INT. Little Petey Pom-Pom would be proud. Airstink strikes again.

    UDub cranks a huge TD.

    1. Harrell’s memo to Fink to throw that pick that close to the end zone, when the run had been working – game over and now really over….this is Harrell’s the defense has done all asked of them. Not a good resume if the idea was Harrell was auditioning for the HC position.

  7. Helton’s personality has shown up once again in the how USC is playing. No tackling, no blocking, interceptions, wasted plays, no defense, no rushing, and no sense of urgency. Fire him in the tarmac. We have seen enough of his team and him

      1. Alv — You’re right. We can’t pin this one ENTIRELY on Helton. USC played ALMOST as well as they could [with a deservedly 3rd string QB at the helm]. But I have to say —it’d be nice if we could play smarter. Little things like a “half spike” of the football or a player in plainclothes drifting two feet onto the field or an o-line player jumping on a critical down [and then cussing out the QB] —can be the difference between winning and losing. And Helton’s teams know ALL about the little differences between winning and losing, don’t they?

  8. Just a thought. Tarmac Helton and we have two weeks to replace him. We know what’s coming next week, three no pad practices and then it’s movie time. I hear they’re watching Darby O’gill and the little people in preparation for the fighting Irish . This climate and culture needs to go.

  9. miss tackles, poor play calling…where R U Sears? but the good news is that there won’t be many more games with Clay and Clancy….. The announcers love Clay and have tried to protect him…aarghh!!

    1. actually — ACTUALLY — huard has sounded pretty exasperated with sc’s schemes and lack of discipline. sounds like he expects more. and, has even said, this is what sc fans has been so upset with — the inability to run the ball for tough yardage and the drive-killing (or, defensively drive-extending) penalites. so much more refreshing than herbstreit’s ‘i like clay helton,’ and his constant over analyzation of the quarterback position only.

      1. I heard that too from Huard – it speaks volumes of what former players and announcers that have no connection to USC think of what the program has dissolved into….a mess just like bel-air tech’s. This is what is expected there and no one would say otherwise nationally – but USC?

Nothing changes until Helton is gone.

  10. AirStink fails on 4th and goal.

Remember when the Rah-Rah’s and Pimps thought Harrell was the Piped Piper of SUCC wins. LOL

Oh no, not again, Fink chucks another DtM INT.

  11. The bus should leave without Helton, and they should throw his bag out the window with a note that says, “Good riddance, you’re fired!!! Put on your ‘big boy pants’ and find your own way home.”

  12. From the Penthouse to the Outhouse. I hope Fink regaled in his one-week of heroism, which was largely due to Pittman’s efforts. I read where Fink was the worst of the quarterbacks in throwing interceptions in practice, and we saw his weakness on full display today.

Harrel sucks too fire him If he (?) is making the calls then the offensive play calling is so bad evening high school coaches are better he is really really bad why do you think he got fired from Texas

  15. Two weeks before we get manhandled by ‘the princess’ – the sole silver lining is that no matter what, Helton is a goner. Let’s hope the athletic director search is thorough and the pick will reflect an experienced head coach instead of a poor sap who had never ever been a head coach anywhere.

    1. Helton is most probably gone –but what if he upsets Notre Dame in South Bend (which is quite possible)? Do we wait for his next loss before he gets pink slip?

  16. This Supposedly High Scoring offense the last 3 games hasn’t broke 30 points… Harrell is not a savior and I don’t want to hear we are down to Fink .. Fire Helton tonight

  17. I thought Clueless Clay was going to be the Director of Discipline? 8 penalties for 80 yards may be an improvement, but man those 8 penalties occurred at the worst time costing the team the game. I will say this for Gomer,, when Fox panned to him wearing the headset, at least his lips weren’t moving. So Harrell was calling the plays. Which means Gomer failed the one thing he had to worry about….discipline

SC was 5-7 last year… maybe they should have given more game experience to Sears and Fink…I don’t want to hear that Slovis would have done better today…BYU was only a couple of weeks ago…disgusting… again…post Darnold era? 8 wins…9 losses… this is USC…not _____

CL, take a couple of hours and chug 3 or 4 pint bottles of fortified Night Train and warm up to your task.

  19. I have to stop watching SC games– I get too crazy and angry with defeats. However, since I have lived through the John McKay and Pete Carroll dynasties, I have to count my blessings that I have experienced some of the greatest college football ever played. But recall that after SC’s 1978 championship and its 2003 Championship, 25 long, long years past We were real lucky to have witnessed it. But alas, with parity in college football outside of Alabama and Clemson and maybe a few others, SC will not relive that kind of run again. Oh well, life goes on, regardless.
