Nation’s No. 1 Recruit Spurns USC

Corona Centennial defensive end Korey Foreman, ranked the No. 1 player for 2021 by 247Sports, committed to Clemson on Sunday night.

Guess he wasn’t impressed by the Todd Orlando hire.

The USC fanboys assured me Foreman wanted to be a Trojan because he was a teammate of Drake Jackson.

More important, will the Clay Helton apologists, like Mike Bohn, come to terms with the fact recruiting is effectively hamstrung for another year because the current high school juniors don’t know who the USC will be in 2021.

Bohn said recruiting was going dramatically better than fans want to admit. Is Foreman to Clemson a sign of that?

  1. Let’s face it. SC football right now is going through a long and dark tunnel with these incompetent jokers in the program that are only interested in keeping their jobs and collecting those huge paychecks. And it won’t get out of it until it’s run by people who care about what the program is all about and how important it is to uphold its rich tradition.

  4. Yeah not a good look … hoping against hope that there is enough time between now and next signing day for SC to make enough changes that some of these kids decide to stay home…

    1. Us Ducks just love the continued berating of Southern Cal football. No way even Uncle Phil could do as much to help Oregon football. The recipe used here is as the Republicans tried to do with Obama: cause him to fail, even if it means destroying the nation.

      Frankly, the sour grapes by the Clay Helton haters assure failure of a football program they profess to care for.

        Here’s the way I look at it: Helton has a chance to shut all his critics up, prove to all potential recruits that he’s not a big fucking joke and justify his retention by doing ONE thing — get USC ready to play a competitive game with Alabama. If he can’t do that (and I don’t think he can), it’s only gonna get hotter for him here…..

  6. Helton is Cancer. He’s isn’t a cancer he IS Cancer. Without him the team flourished under subhuman coaches, but we didn’t like those guys. So we infected ourselves with this cancer and now we are living with it. We are no longer immune to the loss of a few games, we’re at a loss all of the time. It’s just worst thing this program has experienced in my lifetime. He makes Hackett look like a pro and Smith a winner with style. It isn’t that Pete was so good, it’s that Clay is so bad. And the administration keeps saying eat clay.

  9. This is not only a indictment of USC but the PAC 12 as well. These kids want a chance to play for an NC, be on TV ( the ACC Network is on DirecTV ), play before sellout crowds and get coached up to play in the NFL, not exactly what PAC 12 schools are selling these days.

    USC could have fixed this but they stayed with Mr Integrity, see how many fannies that puts in the seats, if the USC Admin even cares anymore, which I don’t think they do.

    1. BK, I don’t think the USC Admin cares either. I have no idea why they want such a big part of the university’s history, tradition, and positive culture and success to depreciate away. For decades, football is what brought the whole campus together. Now, Folt et. al. seem to want that to disappear.

      1. Caruso and Spielberg brought in Folt to transition USC into becoming The Stanford of the West. The Board has gone SJW and has determined that football is a male dominated sexist patriarchal sport which must be eventually dropped and replaced with badminton.

It goes like this —you CAN complain about Helton BUT you’re stupid if you complain about the EFFECTS of Helton (e. g., terrible recruiting, horribly incompetent staff, laughing stock practices, awful game management, repeated blow out losses to first rate teams, etc)…..
        [By the way —Orlando promises his unit will practice tackling. I’m sure they will. But against whom? It WON’T be against Helton’s ones or twos—they will remain untouched in practice….and the defense will remain untested]….

        That’s not it. We don’t agree with all of the thoughts of the blogger, and we know he goes out of his way to trash the university and football program we care about. We also think Clay is a terrible coach and our program is as low as it can possibly be.

        Disagreeing with Scott does not mean we agree with Helton or any part of the direction of the football program. That’s just what the trolls on this board think.

        I also do not agree that Scott wants the football team to do well and is sticking with his line because he is calling out the administration. He did that when we were the best team in the country.

      11. Mrs. Helton — I’m open to hearing testimony. Can you cite Full Fledged & Unfair Attacks (as opposed to occasional critical comments) on Pete or the Trojan football team made by Scott during the 2004-05 seasons?

  11. Such a weird thing to say, that recruiting is “better than people want to admit”. I guess Helton has convinced Bohn that there’s some conspiracy against him and that the fans who are pointing out that this is the worst recruiting class ever are just haters, right?

  12. Will lets look at the situation for a second.

    USC hired Folt who is a pseudo-intellect coming from all places NC. Not a high ranked academic national school mind you (not top 10). If she is pursuing USC to be higher ranked I take no issue but just come out and state that athletics will take a back seat.

    She then hires Bohn who has had one successful head coach hire in how many attempts? He is now “running” the program. Just add it up and we need to realize that football is important to us but not them.

    It is us against them.

    Stop donating and supporting the games and the university financially. The whole university is dependent on the amount of funds coming through. That is the ONLY way to get through to these douches.
