I hear the USC ticket office is getting kicked out of the Student Union building, where it has resided since at least the 1930’s.
It’s new location might be off campus.
For anyone who attended USC, the ticket office was a Student Union tradition, first on the second floor before moving to the ground floor.
And if you go way back, the ticket manager John Morley was a legendary figure from the 1940’s-1970’s, where he held the title for 29 years. He spent 41 years working at the university, all in the Student Union building.
Morley would always announce expected attendances for football and basketball games, say how many tickets were available and had a big map of the Coliseum on his wall to show which seats were sold.
Today, no one knows any of that because USC is too paranoid to announce its lousy ticket sales to the public.
Scottie, not sure the ticket office location qualifies as a “tradition.”

Meanwhile USC grad and LA Times Film Critic Justin Chang just declared
the classic film Gone With the Wind “racist”. Intelligence seems to be dying. Carol Folt must be proud. https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2020/02/21/la-times-film-critic-trump-saying-he-likes-gone-with-the-wind-is-a-racist-dog-whistle/

Just for fun,gt — read ANY Soviet film review of ANY American film in the ’50’s [it seems they were ALL “anti-labor” —even The Creature From The Black Lagoon and Some Like It Hot]……

Gone with the wind is racially insensitive to African Americans.

Arturo, is Spartacus a racially insensitive film because the Romans captured and bought their slaves from the lands they conquered and had them fight wild animals and each other to the death in the Coliseum?

Answer, gt: Yes. And don’t even get me going on the way the Normans were treated in the Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood….

I wanna say I paid $90 to have that sticker put on my student ID for the season. Minus I think the ucla game. I think. Or maybe it was Notre Dame. It’s been a while. But I definitely remember going to that specific ticket office. Sad to see it move.

Now that the basketball teams and the volleyball teams have moved to the Galen Center, why not move the ticket office to the old P.E. building?
The loss of those teams certainly means more space. It’s halfway between Heritage Hall and the old ticket office, overlooks Cromwell Field and is close enough to Bovard for Folt and the rest of the administrators to keep a close eye on (declining, so far) ticket sales.

Maybe they will move it to the Galen Center which is basically still on campus. I believe that would be easier for the general public to get to. As opposed to walking an equivalent of 4 blocks from parking on a surface street to walk to the Student Union Building. Also it may be for security reasons that going forward the school may not want non students or faculty entering the main campus areas.

Good points, WB —thanks for insights into what could be the other side of the story.

Yes! Thank you SO, SO much, Ken! Scott’s “bitterness” over the ticket office possibly being moved off campus is just the latest in a series of outrages [all of which you have dutifully pointed out, thankfully]!

When I worked at USC in the 1950’s, the sports information office was located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building. The football and track office was also there.
