Maximus Gibbs, a three-star offensive guard from St. John Bosco, committed to USC today.

He is the 8th commitment for USC, which currently has the No. 7-ranked class for 2021 according to Rivals.

  6. Just look at the last four recruiting classes under Bozo Helton, he signed several decorated 3 and 4 star lineman, but that meant nothing . Like I said before, it’s just a merry-go-round ride of the same old thing, so why do people still get excited over the commitments under Helton? 🤔

      1. 67 — You might find this amusing. When I lived in Los Angeles, my next door neighbor tried to get the City to repair his badly earthquake damaged sidewalk. The sidewalk stayed just the way it was —through the entire term of one Democrat Mayor and one Republican Mayor. Finally, a bunch of us got together and just repaired it ourselves.

        Funny thing about R.E.-it’s a wierd biz. I’m in a complicated deal in a difficult transactional period. This next 24 months is going to be very difficult in this country. The non essential sector of this economy is being hung out to dry & that is unfortunate. It’s what helps keep people sane. Restaurants, recreation, travel, sporting events. It’s as though a great force wants to ring the fun out of life in this country. You tell me why people have to give up golf? I do not understand that.
        Without going too far down the rabbit hole of politics let me say this. New York, New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles….what is the single common denominator of those cities & the those states? What comes to my mind is that they are all poorly run, bankrupt, democratic strongholds. I’m wondering when or if people will ever wake up.
        I’ve got too many issues to deal with now. My checklist is two pages long, lol. I’m OK on valuation, thanks.
        Funny how CAL Berkeley has a reputation of being a hippie school, esp. in SoCal. It is not. Very competitive students, many naive or misguided however. I probably was the former while a student. Stereotypes of CAL die hard.

  14. The secret to any great lineman is how quick are his feet and does he make the contact first on the defensive player before the defensive player makes the hit on the oline man. I remember the 49’ers oline wieghing around 280 lbs and going against bigger and stronger guys. But they would beat the def line by getting off the ball and intiating contact first and hitting the deline man first and controlling the dlineman. To play oline, you must think that you will destroy the dlineman on every play because the dlineman wants to destroy you by scaking the qb or tackling the rb for a loss. When you get back in the huddle, you don’t want to see grass stains on your qb. They get the glory but lineman get the job done and the win. I hope the kid is good. We will see. Nice pick up though for SC. That is a big need.

  15. Kid looks soft from the photos. He needs to drop down to 310. A lot of belly fat. The core is the strength of the body. His core is soft. Many more push ups, many more sit ups, crunches, ups and downs, moving tires all day, arms, stomach, and legs make a lineman
