The defensive line also included Tony Terry, who would give the Trojans a 6-man front they used in the 1970 Rose Bowl. Not sure, but I think that all 6 were drafted. I believe they held opposing teams to just a bit over 2 yards per carry.
If there had been a playoff then, I believe the Trojans would have had a good chance of winning. Because the Trojan D-line was so powerful, no chance to beat them without a great passing game. But neither Texas (#1) nor Penn State (#2) had anything close to a passing game. TX threw the ball about 7 or 8 times a game, had one TD pass all years against 10 balls picked off.

Our 1969 team had the 5th highest winning percentage in the 131 year history of USC Football.. 10-0-1. One tie with ND.
A better record than my 1967 National Championship team which had a stupid loss against Oregon State 0-3 in the mud.
All of the teams 1967,68,69 were exceptional..
Our records were 29-2-2!!
Light years ahead of current USC Football.
