An Eagle-Eyed Complaint From Some USC Fans

I hear USC received a few complaints this week after some fans objected to a decal on the back of the helmets featuring a logo for Black Lives Matter.

The decals were difficult to spot on TV so I’m not sure if the fans were eagle-eyed or heard about the decals elsewhere. You can see the small decal on the back of the helmet in the picture above.

The decal is being worn by some football teams this season in the wake of last spring’s protests. Arizona State had a unique version of the logo for the USC game that featured a pitchfork.

  1. BLM is a Marxist organization organization. The Marxist killed 100 million people in the 20th century trying to put their broken system in and then when they found out that it didn’t work in about 1991 when all their satelite nations broke free and dumped them, they just said “Hmmm, I guess our system didn’t work as well as we thought it would….sorry about that….maybe we’ll only have to kill 50 million with our next whacko idea”.
Also BLM freely states on their website that their ultimate goal is to destroy the american nuclear family and to destroy the USA. That alone should end the discussion. Shame on those players and also on Folt and Bohn for allowing it. Dabo Sweeney banned it at Clemson.

      1. I don’t know anyone today who owns a slave. Very few owned them back in the 1850’s. The average person back then didn’t own a slave, even down south. This was before the industrial revolution and unions. There was no middle class. There was 5% rich and 95% poor. Most people didn’t have enough money to feed an extra person. Even if I have slave owners in my geneology, what does that have to do with me. I’m responsible for them? This isn’t about slavery. or killing blacks. 94% of all blacks that are murdered are murdered by other blacks.

      1. Before any white people ever came to america, the indigenous people were fighting and killing each other and involved in slavery among themselves. That’s what made Tecumseh famous. He temporarily unified all the warring tribes in the Northeast in order to fight the americans. There were some relatively peaceful tribes but generally speaking, the americans didn’t just walk into this land and start a war. There was already a war going on between the native americans. By the way, I’m a native american. Born and raised here. That makes me just as native as anyone else.

      1. Nobody has destroyed america….YET! But that is coming. The dems want to make this a socialist country. Show me one place where that has worked. But destruction is coming because I’m convinced that the libs are going to win. And when they win and put their socialist system in, it will fail here just like it has failed everywhere else. Welcome to Venezuela.

      1. Nonsense. BLM is Marxist. For years they had it on their website. They were not trying to hide it. Recently, they have taken it off their website because they have been advised to because it was turning off a lot of people. But if you ask their leaders today, they won’t deny it. Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said that she and her fellow organizers are “trained Marxists” – making clear their movement’s ideological foundation.
Cullors, 36, was the protégé of Eric Mann, former agitator of the Weather Underground domestic terror organization, and spent years absorbing the Marxist-Leninist ideology that shaped her worldview.

      2. Martin Luther King was a republican and he voted republican. The guys who were fighting him(Bull Conner and George Wallace were all dems. You need to brush up on your history. From its origins, the coalition that became the Democratic Party was founded on the core principles of black slavery, white supremacy, and the aggressive expansion of plantation agriculture. Not one single democrat voted for the 14th(citizenship for blacks) and 15th amendmendments(voting rights for blacks). Very few voted for the 13th amendment(abolishing slavery). Segregation, Jim Crow and the klu klux klan was all established by the democrats.    In 1850, there were only 2 parties….the democrats and the whigs. The democrats were violently pro-slavery. The whigs were just pro-prosperity but since slavery brought economic prosperity, most of them were pro-slavery. But there were vast numbers of people who were violently anti-slavery(called abolitionists). There was no party for them. So they formed a party….the republican party. That was the main reason that the republican party was formed.   The republicans were started in 1854 to stop the spread of slavery and to abolish it altogether. During the Dred Scott case in 1857 the court ruled that slaves weren’t citizen….they were property. The 7 justices who voting in favor of this decision were all democrats. The 2 justices who voted against were both republicans. The man who freed the slaves was Abraham Lincoln….a republican. John Wilkes Booth and all the other of his cohorts who assasinated Lincoln and were later hanged were all democrats. Once Lincoln was dead, Andrew Johnson, a democrat, became president and he did everything he could to undue everything that Lincoln had done.  After the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments were passed, hundreds of blacks were elected to office in southern states legislatures and 22 blacks were elected to congress….all as republicans. The democrats did not elect a blackman to congress until 1935. The KKK was founded by a democrat…Nathan Bedford Forrest. He once ran for office as a democrat. He lost but he was a hardocre dem. “In the spring of 1867, Forrest and his dragoons launched a campaign of midnight parades; ‘ghost’ masquerades; and ‘whipping’ and even ‘killing Negro voters and white Republicans, to scare blacks off voting and running for office'”.  In 1868 former Governor of New York Horatio Seymour was nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate, while Forrest’s friend, Frank Blair, Jr. was nominated as the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Seymour’s running mate. [161] The Seymour-Blair Democratic ticket’s campaign slogan was: “Our Ticket, Our Motto, This Is a White Man’s Country; Let White Men Rule.” [161] These developments worked to the advantage of the Republicans, who focused on the Democratic Party’s alleged disloyalty during and after the Civil War.   Historian Eric Foner said “In effect, the Klan was a military force seeking the interest of the democratic party”. The KKK was originally the military wing of the democratic part, formed to make sure blacks don’t vote by means of terror. Woodrow Wilson, a democrat, was anti-black and even screened the first movie ever played at the White house….the racist film…”the birth of a nation”. That film was originally titled “the Clansman”. Lyndon Baines Johnson was a  racist,he is the guy who decided that the blacks were eventually going to get all the rights of the whites so the democrats better get on board. So….VOILA….all of a sudden they became pro-black. I could go on and on. Brush up on  your history.

    1. Spoken like a true liberal. Don’t logically argue your viewpoint. Just call names “racist, sexist, homophobes, islamophobe, whatever”. The libs today have given up on logical arguments. They don’t have any. How do you argue that there is 50-100 genders? You’re making my argument for me.

      2. There is absolutely no connection between Lynn changing his batting stance and the change in the american people in the last 60 years. Some changes are good, some are bad. The changes in america have been bad. New York just passed a law that said you can kill a baby right before it comes out of the womb and if you botch the abortion and it comes out alive, you know what they do. They break it’s neck. That’s all legal now in NY. When governor Cuomo sighed the bill in Albany, they gave him a standing ovation. If I did that to a dog and put it on you tube, they would put me in jail. Not all change is good. C.S. Lewis used to call the idea that all change is progressive “chronological snobbery”.

      1. So where did the statement ever read “their ultimate goal is to destroy the American nuclear family and to destroy the USA”.?
It actually read: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable,” the website formerly read.

      1. That may be what the website says now but that’s not what it has said for years. Like I said, they recently changed their website because they were getting so many complaints even from other blacks. Just recently a leader of BLM( I think from NY) said “we don’t want to follow anyone, we don’t want to lead anyone, we just want to destroy america”.

There are some great sporting events out there that have not “leveraged” their “importance” to thrust “the” message onto their viewers. They simply deliver great sport. Thrill of competition and victory. Agony of defeat.
I’m searching for their sport. It’s all about great athletes and sportspersons competing with each other.

Nevertheless, I’m fine with everyone pushing their agenda..
I’d be entirely happy if a black man could safely walk down every American street without the fear of being wantonly accosted or killed.

We’re better than 1954. We’re better than 1968. America will be a better place the day I’m lying on my deathbed. Love this place.

      1. We’re better than 1954. We’re better than 1968. Spoken like a white man who grew up truly coddled. Here’s some truth for you.

The substantial progress in educational attainment of African Americans has been accompanied by significant absolute improvements in wages, incomes, wealth, and health since 1968. But black workers still make only 82.5 cents on every dollar earned by white workers, African Americans are 2.5 times as likely to be in poverty as whites, and the median white family has almost 10 times as much wealth as the median black family.
With respect to homeownership, unemployment, and incarceration, America has failed to deliver any progress for African Americans over the last five decades. In these areas, their situation has either failed to improve relative to whites or has worsened. In 2017 the black unemployment rate was 7.5 percent, up from 6.7 percent in 1968, and is still roughly twice the white unemployment rate. In 2015, the black homeownership rate was just over 40 percent, virtually unchanged since 1968, and trailing a full 30 points behind the white homeownership rate, which saw modest gains over the same period. And the share of African Americans in prison or jail almost tripled between 1968 and 2016 and is currently more than six times the white incarceration rate.

      3. Dear Mr FU.
Thank you for arguing my point so cogently.
We are better than ’54 (actually 1955) when Ms Parks stood her ground.
We are better than ’68 when the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated.

When I apportion blame for the ongoing plight of African Americans in the US, I drop it squarely on the leaders of the Democratic Party who have so completely abrogated any responsibility for improving the condition of a group who has so whole-heartedly placed their trust in that same party.
Democrats continue to ally with the urban teachers’ unions–both of whom continue to fail to properly prepare urban America for a changing World economy.

BTW, I was raised by a single, hard-working, High School educated (Catholic) white woman from the Bronx. As a teenager, my father was enrolled and then graduated from Riker’s Island. A violent man, he found dope and Heroin more enticing than helping her pay the bills, so we fled.
If you find my life “coddled,” I’d love to hear how tough your upbringing was, Mr FU. You seem prejudiced by the fact that I am a successful, proud USC Trojan.

      4. You say “I’d be entirely happy if a black man could safely walk down every American street without the fear of being wantonly accosted or killed”. If you really want that, you need to stop harping on white cops and white priviledge and stop teaching courses in the universities that have titles like “how to get rid of whiteness” and instead go to the black leaders and get them to work on changing the black culture. Stop thinking with your emotions and get real. Here are the facts: 90-95% of all blacks who are murdered are murdered by other blacks. Another 4-8% are murdered by hispanics. Blacks and hispanics kill each other a lot in gang and drug wars. The amount of blacks that are being killed by whites is miniscule. Those are the objective facts.

    2. Nice post, Pudly76.
I cannot recall if is was JO or TO who flayed me last year for supporting Michael Pittman, Jr. Irrespective, it was nice to see Mr. Pittman play so well last night.

Michael had a compartment syndrome a few months ago where the fascia/tendons in the calf are so tense from a soft tissue injury that the blood flow to the calf and to its nerves is compromised. Could lead to LIFETIME muscle atrophy or permanent leg nerve injury (weakness, numbness, etc).
Back in my younger days, it was a fairly in depth surgery to “slice” the fascia and open the compartments so that the pressure would be relieved enough to resume venous and lymphatic blood flow away from the injured area.

Anyway, my posts last year extolled Michael’s work ethic and character. I think the Colts will be happy to have him. I Bet Frank Reich likes having him on the team.

It has developed into a prepubescent name calling.

If it is going to upset their apple cart, they yell and scream and cry. WHO CARES? Let’s just talk about football. If the team, which is 70-80% men of color, and half the coaches are, let them say what they want to support themselves. What white person knows anything about being a person of color anywhere, anytime? Unless of course, they are magical and magically change themselves so they can have the experience. This is total bullshit.
