Can Todd Orlando Stop the Clancy Pendergast Imitation?

USC ranks No. 101 nationally in run defense, allowing 208 yards per game.

It’s not just yards gained, the Trojans have given up plenty of long runs too (more than 15 plays of 10-yards-or-more).

That means Todd Orlando has four problems:

1.) Front mechanics

2.) Alignments

3.) Run-fit integrity

4.) Tackling

Now maybe two games is not a good sample size and I’m not prepared to say he is as bad as Clancy Pendergast.

But right now . . . he looks as bad as Clancy Pendergast and last year at Texas was not an encouraging sign. Oh, and USC played Arizona last week, a bad team.

Remember, USC passed on some NFL coaches to hire Orlando too.

  1. Clancy was the worst. The ’18 loss to the brubabies is the depth of many Clancy lowlights. All Clancy had to do that day was to stop Joshua Kelly. The guy rushes 40 times for about 300 yards. Everyone knew where the ball was going that day. Except Clancy.

        Curious too, why hasn’t he forced the apology of those other fat cat lobbyists who attended.
