USC Baseball Team Stands With Women’s Soccer

It isn’t every day an entire team comes out and stands against its athletic dept.

But the USC baseball team has put out a statement supporting the women’s soccer team and decrying the decision to limit today’s game vs. UCLA to four people per player.

This is obviously a cost issue because USC does not want to staff a Coliseum crowd for something other than football.

But Mike Bohn and Co. are getting caught flat-footed, especially after Bohn said Thursday, the athletic dept. focus “remains on being the most student-athlete centered program in the country.”

  3. Much better… soccer + baseball but still no football.

    Maybe the baseball players will boycott their games this weekend in solidarity with the women. Oh, wait the women aren’t boycotting for their equal rights? The inhumanity of it all.

Why didn’t this surprise me… ruins snatch defeat out of the teeth of victory again‼️ They had game point in each of the first two games and choked it away, much like their basketball team was so good at doing… better give the football team some love too, nobody chokes the big one better than a ruin.💋

      USC still owns Pauley and the Rose Bowl–your home locations. How funny, UCLA does not even own their “home” game venues. USC is the dominant power in athletics and now in academics. UCLA continues to be the doormat that USC rubs their shoes on.

  6. This letter from the baseball team clearly shows how screwed up the decision making process is at SC especially within the athletic department.

    SC should clearly have the same Covid 19 fan attendance policy for all sports.

    Mike Bone just like the Flying Monkeys in the Wizard of Oz is following the Wicked Witch of the West’s orders which make very little sense. If you don’t know who the Wicked Witch of the West is at USC it’s time to watch a re-run of the movie in full living color. In my opinion it is time for Mike Bone, Clay Helton, and Carol Folt to “follow the yellow brick road” out of town.

      5. Good point. I am not being a true friend to Owns. I am being a false friend by pretending the name “UCLA” should ever be used in a sentence with “USC.” Owns must respect the fact that, except for Basketball (a half century ago), UCLA has not distinguished itself as a perennial national power in any sport……
        Whereas USC has done so repeatedly —Jones, McKay, Robinson, Carroll…and soon, Helton…
