I keep getting emails from USC season-ticket holders.
Today, a USC fan who had eight season-tickets for 20-plus years told me he did not renew.
“It had nothing to do with COVID, but everything to do with the lack of accountability over there (at USC). I’ll consider going back when they make the necessary changes. Until then, I’m not spending my money.”

HAHAHAHAHAHA, tens of thousands keeping their tickets, now that’s funny.

You must be confusing us with the fans over at the Rose Bowl. You know, the team that has to GIVE AWAY tickets to local kids groups in order to put butts in the seats. We’ll still have 30-40K season ticket holders and another 20-30K single game purchasers for every home game.

At least you can move to seat up grade during the game with no worries in a half empty Coliseum. It’s like game time tickets, live. Pick the best seat in the house. At the price you want. In fact you can move to a different spot until you get it right. Lol
Fight on!

Are you a mathematics major?
30,000 asses in the stands (i.e., “tens of thousands who are keeping their tickets” as you wrote) are far less than 92,000 or 70,000 or 50,000 or 40,000.
Revenue suffers, and that is the only way the whoremongers in the administration and the BOT seem to ever pay attention at U$C, where only money matters as the top consideration, always. If you’re old enough to remember, the plummeting revenue and attendance was what fast-tracked Paul Hackett’s firing in 2000. He wasn’t going to be fired after the 2000 season, initially, until the writing was on the wall by October 2000 and the administration did an about-face and decided they couldn’t keep suffering the revenue drain of a horrible product on the football field.

I remember those days quite well Danny boy! I was there twice during Paul Cant Hacketts last year. Sometimes history repeats it self. Here we go again with clueless Clay Helton. Maybe after this season history will repeat itself again and they find the next Pete Carroll. De ja vu!

When I’m in one of those super- crowded coliseum restrooms, I feel a responsibility to piss in a big hurry so whoever is after me (and after that next guy and so forth) can get out in time for the next USC drive. I know all my buddies here feel the same way. So here’s a tip —if you can’t get it started in, say, 10 seconds try imitating a police dispatcher’s voice and say, “All units head south to Lake immediately —I repeat all units head south at once to Lake.”

I am afraid if the exodus continues the coliseum will look like the Rose Bowl during a Ucla home game. And rumor has it Ucla is looking to rent a high school for next season.
But hey some of the high school facilities are nice.

Ha! No, that rug sweep was USC du jour. Just shaking my head over what the institution has become…but it could be worse, it could be westwood tech where the chancellor excoriated LAPD for parking on ucla property (leased out to the VA, so the VA permitted them to do this) in order to arrest/give warnings to illegal protestors. Apparently, ucla’s chancellor felt that police applying the law “wasn’t part of ucla values.”

Boogs —I’m torn. I hate thinking of our team looking out into an empty stadium ….but I like the idea of Folt seeing how despised Helton-style football is with fans. Being in Hawaii, I generally limit myself to buying tickets for myself and three L. A. friends once a season. Buying good seats online for the bunch of us runs a little less than a thousand (but one of them generally grabs me a chicken and rice plate at halftime).

’67 BS indignation might be creditable if the vile, finger-picking Doc Tyndall hadn’t operated on the Clown U campus for 20 years with the connivance the Chancellor’s Office suppressing hundreds/thousands of female student complaints.

As I have said before here many times, Tyndal and what he did was horrendous. Absolutely, 100% horrendous.
However, ucla still will never be “QBU”.
They could be “place kicker u”. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Had season tickets with my father for 42 years. We decided to cancel the tickets after the 2018 season. Apathy has set in and I truly believe covid gave Claydo a pass because fans were not allowed to attend last season. Plus we avoided the beat down by Bama and ND. It will be interesting to see the Coli this season. By the way my father and I started a new tradition we go to Vegas 2 weekends during the season to watch USC and the NFL. We do not worry about driving to the coliseum and comfortably watch the game from the casino. .

Loyalty must be two sided not one sided. USC, has done nothing for the fans in many years.
We have all protested for many years orally and in written format it is now time for a complete physical and monetary boycott of USC athletics until they make the change. Money talks at USC if no one gives a penny we will get the changes we are all looking for.
Carol Folt is a control freak that could care less about the USC athletic heritage. However, she will notice when the athletic piggy bank is empty, and will finally come to realize we need these fans, and need to listen and respond to their demands.
United we Stand—–until Helton is gone hopefully even before the season begins. USC needs the revenue the sooner the change is made the better. Stick Uncle Fester in a fund raising position make him work to pay back all the free money he has taken from USC until his contract expires.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Folt is a liberal idealogue and so she only cares about her core beliefs, football is not one of them. But the USC endowment is not running dry, due to the gains in investments. So the only way the financial impact hits Folt is if the stock market dives.
Despite this fact, I think SC football fans are just not understanding that things will be significantly improved. The defensive coaching staff is good and the defense will win games for SC this year with take-aways and containing opponents. It will all come down to whether Graham Harrell is willing to abandon the simplicity of the air raid and introduce an offense with proper schematics.
Is the SC football program living up to its potential – no. But it isnt as dire a situation as I hear from Scott.
