Scott promoting his very good newsletter article about Ricky Bell. I’ll take a moment to reiterate that if Mike Bohn had the ability to make a big-time football coach hire, he would’ve done so a long time ago.

Agree that after the Holiday Bowl would have been the time. But what we don’t know is the role played by Folt. She claims that when Bohn signed on that he was given free reign over the athletic dept. But a week later, several reported that she blacklisted Urban Meyer. Who knows what is going on…

My totally uneducated (what else?) guess: Mike arrived, heard Urban was available, broached the subject with Carol, Carol outlined ALL the things that could go wrong….and Mike never brought the subject up again.

FB pundits are predicting Urban Meyer won’t last long in the NFL. He’s already been caught cheating (Illegal contact in OTA practices), and was fined a $100 large. The Jack team was fined $200 large.
Some bad habits never change.

I don’t get it, Owns —on the one hand you’re saying Urban WON’T change his bad habits….and then, on the other, you’re saying he WON’T last in the NFL…..???

I didn’t say Meyer wouldn’t last, several ESPN FB pundits did.
Meyer wore out his welcome at Ohio St. because of his bad habits and team decisions; bad enough that Ms. Folt declined to employ Meyer as SUCC’s HFC.

Behind closed doors Bohn admits it was probably a mistake to answer Folt’s question about what kind of man Urban was by telling her, “Urban is a guy who likes to run his own program….he doesn’t suffer fools…..and he’ll never ask for your advise on anything”….
