Remember back in the spring when the USC coaches were questioning tailback Kenan Christon being able to get into the rotation, mainly because he was doing track and didn’t participate in spring drills?
Well, now that the speedy Christon is with football every day during training camp, they are singing a different tune.
Clay Helton said after Saturday’s scrimmage USC needs to take advantage of his “10.3 speed” and find ways to get the ball into his hands.
It just shows coaches hate when football players do other sports in the spring and discourage it but are willing to forgive the player when they make plays. They never considered Christon might get better if he runs track too.
Karnak the Magnificent knows what they were considering?.?.? Hahahahaha
All the way from his mother’s darkened basement.

Well 2 freshmen O/L Tackles will definitely plug running lanes for Christon. Can’t wait to see Christon lose yards with Jay Toia on top of him.

Owns, just how is a 6’1″, 325 lb nose guard going to catch Christon running off tackle? What world of physics are you operating in?

Yes, Toia has clearance to play; so no baby chicks to count
Secondly, Dear Pisley, when and where did I say Toia was a DE?
What did I say, sh*t for brains, is “Can’t wait to see Christon lose yards with Jay Toia on top of him.” How you derived your “nose tackle” BS from my comment is typical of your (Not you’re) deficient Enquish comprehension and your paltry, bozo education.

“ There is still the issue of whether Toia will be eligible for this upcoming season. While the NCAA passed a rule that enables players to transfer once without having to transfer, as did the Pac-12, Toia is still dictated by the rules of the National Letter of Intent he signed with USC. The NLI stipulates that, if a signee transfers without having spent an entire academic year (two semesters or three quarters) at the school he signed with, he’ll have to sit out a year before being eligible at his new school. The player can ask his original school to agree to waive the restriction, but if it doesn’t concede, the player then can appeal to the NLI committee…..”
Yeah I’m sure you know…

Football coaches will say anything to get a recruit. I have seen it too many times, even involve the track coach to help recruit. The blatant ones just tell the kid once he is signed and post frosh football season that they will disallow it and they will loose the scholarship. The rest are just passive aggressive and this is the pitch. “If you play spring ball this year, you may be able to start.” Which they don’t mean at all. It’s like holding up a shinny object to distract a kid. But not a single football coach doesn’t do one of those two things. And they almost always leverage the track coach in recruiting. It’s a selfish slap in the face. Lie to everyone involved to get what you want. I’ll go down the list: Matt Gee, Calvin Homes, Ricky Ervins, Chris Hale, Curtis Conway, Gary Wellman, Justin Fargas, Sultan McCullough, Travis Hanna, Marcell Allmond, Adoree Jackson and the list goes on. Every one of those guys was sold a bill of goods, courted by the track coach at the request of football, then either shut down by the staff after the frosh football season, or in most cases told the “you will start next year if you go spring ball only” line. The strong confident kids held their ground, but only with the agreement that they had to do all of their spring football responsibilities first and then they could come out for some meets. The training protocol and schedule is totally counter productive for competitiveness that time of year. When they showed up at the track, they were totally out of shape in every manner of speaking. I would usually take some of the football only guys, and train them for the combine since S&C was not up to snuff. My kids and the throwers were the only kids on campus who’s position or event coach were allowed to write up their lifting and conditioning programs. The rest of the department was stuck with the S&C staff. The staff was resistant (Ivan was our assigned staffer) until I sat him down and showed him my program and explained it and why it needed to be specifically like that. Funny thing is, he asked if he could use parts of it for other events and some of the other sports. I didn’t care, just let my kids train like they are supposed to. I have no ego, just let the kids maximize their potential.

owns, Joe’s brain isn’t coming back, and it is costing us enormously. He now claims “he doesn’t recall” being advised last month against his Afghan strategy. Those at the US embassy are saying today they would rather die honorably defending their post, than be killed on the road to the airport by terrorists. This is an awful situation.

Owns, you are a dimwit. Just flat out, a dimwit. I will let you figure out how pathetic your argument is viz a viz trump’s deal with the taliban.
Here are some hints:
No need to honor a predecessor’s deal
Taliban violated the previous deal, another reason not to honor it
Joe already admitted he would cut and run, irrespective of the previous deal
UK, France, Canada, Germany have called Biden and/or his decision”imbecile”, “morally irresponsible”, “biggest int’l debacle under NATO”, and “betrayal”
This isn’t a partisan issue. JFC, some people on this blog…

Owns really needs to let this one go — I know California MSNBC watchers are still in the dark as to the dimensions of Joe’s latest debacle but Israel, France, Germany, Japan, Ukraine, Taiwan, South Korea and England aren’t —they’re utterly disgusted. There is talk of NATO breaking up —Albania, Bulgaria, etc. don’t want to depend on an imbecile for their security.

I’d be doubly remiss if I didn’t chuck my two pennies in the pile re: Ms. Keely Eure. Assuming each of my opinions is worth one cent, here’s two (I might be a bit generous with that valuation, but I suck at math so I’m sticking to round numbers if it’s all the same to y’all):
1. She’s doing, and has always done, one helluva job. She’s got personality. She’s got wit. She asks tougher questions than most, especially amongst those who are professionally tasked with staying in the good graces of the program. And finally she’s honest in her take and in her passion for Trojan Football. (I’m counting all that as one of my two opinions)
2. I’ve got nothing but respect for someone who’s giving life a go in full view of a sometimes overly critical public. That ain’t easy. Using her platform to voice an opinion, shared or otherwise, about something she feels strongly about ain’t none to easy either.
Now I don’t do Twitter, or any similar, so I have no clue what the faceless masses are posting, and quite frankly don’t care to know. That said, I hope that the powers that be understand that most disgruntled Trojans aren’t “gruntled” with the players, we’re gruntled with the charlatan in charge who’s been delivering way less than the players deserve.

Figure they can’t un-graduate me at this point, so here’s a lil story bout how I dealt with the whole “math” thing at ‘SC…
Statistics was kicking my ass, for one reason or another – but most likely due to me never studying – and I had to pull something close to a B+ or better rabbit outta my hat on the final to pass the class & stay on track to walk with my mates come spring. Now, all the formulas, examples, etc that would be on the final could be/were stored on the HP19b calc we used for the class. If ya could reference all that during the final, an A was almost a certainty. Unfortunately for us non-math types who were planning on simply making sure everything was loaded on the 19b, they announced that as we entered into the Hoffman auditorium, every student was gonna have to clear the calcs mem in front of the prof/TA. Real sticklers for memorization ya know? Clearing mem meant certain failure for me, no two ways. On the day of the final, I stood tall, pulled the 19b from my jacket pocket, pressed whatever keys required, presented my calc for inspection, got confirm the mem was wiped, put it back in my pocket, was waved in, took a seat, waited until things got settled, test underway, and reached into my other jacket pocket and pulled out my other HP19b, this loaded with everything an aspiring statistician could desire. Gots me a 96%. Now I know what some might be saying. But I also knew what my wife, and momma to our then 4yo boy, woulda been saying too if I didn’t grad and get a real job… moral of the story? If you can’t add you better be crafty.
