Pac-12/ACC/Big Ten Alliance Details Revealed

The three conferences have revealed their new alliance, admittedly light on details, but the main goal is to vote as a bloc to delay College Football Playoff expansion.

Here are the press release goals:

  • Student-athlete mental and physical health, safety, wellness and support
  • Strong academic experience and support
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Social justice
  • Gender equity
  • Future structure of the NCAA
  • Federal legislative efforts
  • Postseason championships and future formats

Here’s what you care about:

“The alliance includes a scheduling component for football and women’s and men’s basketball designed to create new inter-conference games, enhance opportunities for student-athletes, and optimize the college athletics experience for both student-athletes and fans across the country. The scheduling alliance will begin as soon as practical while honoring current contractual obligations. A working group comprised of athletic directors representing the three conferences will oversee the scheduling component of the alliance, including determining the criteria upon which scheduling decisions will be made. All three leagues and their respective institutions understand that scheduling decisions will be an evolutionary process given current scheduling commitments.

“The football scheduling alliance will feature additional attractive matchups across the three conferences while continuing to honor historic rivalries and the best traditions of college football.

“In women’s and men’s basketball, the three conferences will add early and mid-season games as well as annual events that feature premier matchups between the three leagues.”

Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren: “There is turbulence now in college athletics and things we need to address. We need leadership.”

“I’m a big believer in expanding the College Football Playoff but I’m also a big believer in being methodical and doing our homework.”

Pac-12 Conference commissioner George Kliavkoff: “There is no signed document, and there doesn’t need to be. There is a commitment from three commissioners and 41 presidents and athletics directors.

“The Pac-12 is 100 percent in favor of an expansion of the College Football Playoff.”

  3. Since 2015 when Clueless Helton took over at USC the team has won 41 games.

UCLA since 2015 has won 28 games.

USC has afforded Helton 10 times the recruiting talent in that span and clowns like pudly think its some great accomplishment that Helton keeps wasting talent.

    LOL!

USC ranked #5 in the nation the last 10 years in number of 5 star recruits and their record certainly doesn’t reflect it.

  4. How soon can they get a Clemson vs USC/Helton matchup?

I want to see Helton exposed as the fraud he is when he takes another humiliating beatdown at the hands of an elite opponent.

      1. About as likely as the morons who approve of Biden’s performance admitting how wrong they are. Not going to happen. One mess after another and 41% actually approve!

  5. The press release reads like it was a cut-and-paste job from the letter they sent last year to the alumni groups announcing no more local control, everything will be run from campus. “Enhance” this, “optimize” that, and oh by the way, those bank accounts belong to us now and you’ll have to get our written permission to use anything with a USC registered trademark.

Let me translate all of that babble for you: Here’s what they are saying……”We can’t set up re-education camps in america to torture you until you start thinking the way we want you to think(at least, NOT YET) so we will do the next best thing….bring the re-education camps into your living via sports and other vehicles so that you end up being nice little political correct puppets who stand up and cheer when you see incompetent Joe and cackling Kamala”
