USC-San Jose State Live Blog

OK, here’s a place for you to place your comments.

USC up 10-0 on TD pass from Slovis to Tahj Washington. It’s looking like a typical USC-MWC game.

I’m taking USC, 45-28.

Freshman safety Calen Bullock is taking snaps with the first-team in warm-ups and looks like he will start.

Should USC play “Enter Sandman” with this crowd?

  1. Let’s go SJSU!!! Blow out USC so bad they have to fire Helton. The season is pointless for as long as he’s still the coach. I guarantee you they’re going to have all the same stupid problems w/ penalties and boner play calls. I am a legit hate watcher until Helton is gone. Sucks for all those kids and Clay’s sons.

      1. The RB is full and rocking.

BTW, Clown U announces the paid attendance for the SJSt. game at 98, 889 paid.

    1. So is Dear Pisley, the stinking POS. AS usual he’s all mouth or MIA.

It appears from Tim Peterson’s tweet photo that the SJSt., Crumbling Mausoleum game crowd is much smaller than last weeks Hawaii vs UCLA, RB crowd -OUCH!!!

Can’t wait to hear the litany of Rah-Rah attendance debacle excuses.

  3. The defense is good, not great, but OK. Very good backfield, but not so great on the defensive line. Not quite enough pressure.

The passing attack of this team is looking very weak. My feel is that SC’s offense is just built wrong, the X’s and O’s just dont work. Any team that can shut down London can shut down this passing attack.

Going to be a very long and frustrating season at this rate.

  4. Can’t see Helton doing much more than .500 this season. Just no game plan (as usual). Isn’t the definition of insanity repeating the same experiment again expecting different results? I don’t have much faith at this point with the administration, but have to assume that even they will see the need for a complete housecleaning after the season. It shows how strong SC is that recruiting hasn’t been a complete disaster under Helton, but excuses need to be done and it is time for accountability.

Watching the complete lack of half time adjustment by SC and the adjustments by San Jose State’s coaching staff is just embarrassing. Anyone want to make a prediction on Helton’s record this season?

  5. Why is it so difficult to watch USC Football? I can watch every other top team play, but one must jump through hoops and spend even more $$ to watch the Trojans. Why pay to see a medicre Texas team?

  6. Where is Kenon Christian——???????????? Our backs look slow. We need an explosive back. This air offense is like watching the high school summer league passing leagues. Watch our offensive linemen they get pushed back on most plays.

    1. The o-line IS soft. Unbelievably soft. Can’t believe Helton is letting this happen again.
D looked pretty damn good to me —except on two plays when the DB’s were totally out of position.

  7. Helton farewell tour.

Not sure why Slovis is only throwing to London, the TV doesnt show whether the other players are open or what.

[Between me and you, I hope this isn’t the part where all the people that said SJS would beat us come on and say beating them by 23 points and beating the spread wasn’t good enough]……..

  8. SC isn’t going to cover the spread again in their season opener that’s enough to fire Kiffin and Sark. What makes Helton special? Oh that’s right Bohn rides the short bus.

      1. London was limping at end of game (after refs LET him get hit after he was stopped by not blowing whistle). If he’s not 100% against Stanford we lose 50% of our offense.

      2. I finally figured out where everyone was. I had to stream the game from my phone so I couldn’t comment.
Or they fell asleep waiting for a coach to show up.

  9. Defense looked pretty good, but our defensive line looks small to me. We need Ismail Sophster the transfer from Alabama. Corey Foreman, needs to add some weight Our defensive backs looked excellent.

Offensive line looks terrible. USC is a one dimensional passing offense which will be easy to stop especially in the red zone.. When we run wide the plays take too long to develop and we just don’t have the lineman to run straight ahead up the middle so defenses will cheat with their linebackers to stop the sweeps.

We shall see how the season develops but I don’t see a great season ahead perhaps 7-5 or 8-4.

I still say the real problem is the stupid decision to move to this air raid offense 3 years ago, and that one is on Clay Helton no one else. So far Utah, Arizona State, and Washington look like the best teams we shall see how UCLA does tonight but I predict they will win it with a 4th qtr. touchdown.

  10. Did SJSU borrow Clancy Pendergast for this game to consult on defense? I don’t think they doubled Drake at all in the second half.

Run game = 160 yards on 34 carries, best in a long time, Ingram IMO looked quite good. 6′, 215, 4.4 and change 40 time. Hoping he gets 25 carries next week.

      1. Ingram averaged about 6 yards a carry for over 2,000 yards at Texas in 3 years. Let’s get him the ball more. Yes, the o-line was disappointing, more so in the first half than in the second. Did you see how much difference Drake Jackson makes? In the first half the pass rush was on the SJSU QB immediately, SJSU couldn’t do anything. Drake didn’t play much in the second half and the Spartan QB had so much more time to throw. I think he threw for over 200 yards in the second half, 300 for the game.

      2. Yes. A lot of passing yards allowed toward the end. [Even with all those completions I think our back 4 are gonna be okay]…

If UGLY turns in an ugly performance, it’s really time to just close up the shop in the PAC, wait til there is some change (God please) in CFB and CA woke culture. Or wait, is that what we’re doing? Tsk. Anyway my new Bama fan and online enrollment for a certificate program is working fine. Roll Tide!

  12. For those of you watching the UCLA game………..their offensive line really gets a great push off the line, and stays with their blocks, and that DEFENSIVE LINE is one of the best in the country. Anyone who says our running game looks better needs to switch their attention to Ping Pong like Pudley.

  14. What was the attendance at the Coliseum, for today’s game? Scotty was right about the 2 pm kickoff in 95 degree weather. I heard it got up to 100 during the game. Players were cramping up every where because of the heat. Way to go Pac 12 and Bohn.

      1. 100% LSU sucks, but they don’t San Jose St level suck. The more media run UCLA gets the more pressure it puts on USC to dump Helton. I’ve heard somethings and none of them had the caveat of UCLA smoking LSU.
