Quarterback Jaxson Dart practiced today and did 11-on-11 drills. Donte Williams said Dart is still not medically cleared.
It is still possible he could be cleared before the Notre Dame game.

If you had a OJ Simpson you wouldn’t have to worry about the QB getting hurt! You just have to hand it off to me and watch me slice and dice my way through the defense like the “Real Killer” sliced and diced through the LAPD dragnet!

Mr. Smith, let’s not forget Wazzu lost the services of its primary QB to injury in that game. Had not that injury occurred, Wazzu was good enough to kick Clown U’s FB booty – Dart or no Dart.

This season is over, with losses in ND, possibly Tempe, and possibly vs the Fighting Chippers. Dart will be a star for the 2022 and 2023 team. Zach Wilson’s futility with the Jets might lead Dart into staying in 2024.
DOn’t play the kid in South Bend.

If they’re going to put Jaxson in against the Irish they may as well let him call the plays and improvise so he doesn’t get killed running Graham Harrell’s crap offense, especially since Harrell doesn’t have a clue as to what he’s doing.
Harrell thinks that just because you draw up a play it’s supposed to or going to work, he doesn’t take into account that a strong offensive line is a necessity. Harrell’s dink and dunk offense is so predictable, it’s as bad as, if not worse than Lane Kiffin calling bubble screens every other play.

James –I think we (especially if it’s Dart at the helm) score considerably better than 13 points —our (Orlando’s actually) downfall will be inability to stop the run OR pass. I mean fricking pick ONE, Todd. And may I suggest it be the run? Then just tell our corners to listen to the South Bend crowd scream when the ball is in the air….make sure they are BEHIND the receiver….and tackle after the pass is complete. That’s the most we can ask of Donte’s unit.

I’m more with Owns on this one (think about what the Shams did to a Darnold/Jones team in 2017…but as we joked about, wouldn’t it be like a USC opponent to flounder in a way that is contrary to USC’s real interests?) – ND 34 USC 13 (I gave USC way too much credit against Utah and looked…as usual, the foolish prognosticator…I might add, the ForksUp – the other FU – were right on schedule by Herming one at Utah).

Owns you score prediction for the SC -ND is about right. I am picking UCLA over the Phil Knight President/ CEO Oregon Ducks——31-24. No Pac 12 team will make the playoffs the conference is very weak this year.
However, Utah will beat UCLA in Salt Lake City so pack your bags for the Las Vegas Bowl. For the first time ever Utah will be going to the Rose Bowl.

SC needs to go hard for Fickell. Get the best available. That’s Fickell. There’s other good coaches out there but Fickell is the best. Go after him big time. Make him tell you no. Then, if he decides he isn’t interested, then you go after Franklin, Aranda, Campbell or whoever. We have at least a chance to get him since he worked for Bohn before and said he liked working for him. Go after him bigtime. Somebody is going to get him. I just don’t think that he is going to stay at Cincinnati.

This is Cincy’s year. Their QB came back for one last dance, and they have a senior heavy roster. So I agree that this is the year to get Fickell. But with 6 kids, and being devout RC, will they find LA to be to their liking?
LikeLiked by 3 people
I’m not as keen on the prospect of Fickell as many others, but understand the reasoning and don’t disagree that it would be worth accepting some of the questions for the potential at striking gold if it worked out (I prefer O’Brien, but understand there are questions about him, as well as all of the other names bandied about).
At base though, your point is the key as to any of them – will USC be willing to make it worthwhile to accept the challenge of rebuilding the program (i.e. pay the new hire enough, agree to give sufficient control over the program, provide sufficient staff/support budget, et al)?

Fickell’s wife has his balls in her purse, he’s too much of sissy clown to put his foot down and tell his wife where they’re going to live. If she’s reallt as much of a religious fanatic loone as has been reported then she’s not going to allow the other Mrs. Fickell to decide where he wants to coach.
Who wants a head coach that isn’t man enough to stand up to his wife when it comes to making decisions regarding his career?
If the dude has to get permission from Mrs. Fickell about where they can or cannot live, is that someone you would want influencing young men? What kind of example is he setting, he isn’t even the king in his own castle, he probably puts on a skirt as soon as he gets home.

LikeLiked by 1 person
LA is filled with Catholic churches. There are Catholics all over the world(millions in China). Being a Catholic should not hinder him. Now if he is waiting for the ND job, he may have a long wait. I don’t see Brian Kelly going anywhere in the near future. The kids go where their parents go. If he wanted to settle down in one area and never move, he probably shouldn’t have gotten into coaching. Football coaches are constantly on the move. As far as him wife is concerned, he should have explained to her when he married her that this is the life of a football coaches wife. But the fact is, we have no evidence that she would object to going to LA. He’s the best coach available. You throw yourself at him. Make him tell you no. If he does, then you go after your #2,3 &4 options.

Was just making point that in addition to failing to read history, most people don’t understand the definition of tyranny (as opposed to despotism)…or that the history of it is almost entirely concentrated in the legislative branch (had a constitutional law professor who educated our class on that – you could see a lot of “dawn of awareness” 2001 monolith looks in the face of Moonwatcher’s descendants)…with the above being my personal favorite references/evidence of (both of which were well-familiar to Hamilton and the other authors – hmmmpphh! overnight news – showing why I find both sides of the argument to be looked at with grave, clinical skepticism).

I agree entirely – and it was by design in a lot of ways – also not an accident that it consistently is rated the worst part of our government…but the amorphous/amoeba-like design (as alluded to “by design”) precludes most (whether due to lack of time to examine properly, lack of interest…lack of capacity all too often) from being able to understand…as they can’t understand the relevance of what Parliament did in the 17th century…or the Romand Senate had been doing prior to J.C. … I mentioned in the censored post that what the Roman people had done that actually allowed their state to survive for centuries following that legislature having been similarly corrupted – the creation of the tribunician political, as opposed to military, positions – is what our system lacks and why it is failing – instead, we have a host of anti-tribunican mechanisms…that are the equivalent of cancerous growths.

Want to say it was in my favorite edition (’67 World Series I’ve referred to to MG re Bob Gibson and Cardinals – also had a great article about a Raiders-Jets game that foreshadowed their AFL title game over a year in the future…and an article about the rise of African-American athletes in college football…in context partially of the South…focused on Warren McVea, which winds back around to recent discussions about ’69 Chiefs).
