Shane Lee, who played middle linebacker at Alabama the past three seasons, is transferring to USC.
Lee was a non-factor the past two seasons: He had seven tackles in 2021 and three tackles in 2020.
However, he did start during the 2019 season and made 86 tackles and was named freshmen All-American.
If USC gets 2019 Shane Lee, good. If USC gets 2021 Shane Lee, bad. But then he’d still probably be better than what USC has.

He was a 4 star in high school. Was outstanding his freshman year at Bama. Unfortunately he got left behind his next 2 years, maybe because of the kind of 5 stars Bama brings in. Who knows. Maybe he is coming to SC with an axe to grind. Maybe he wants to bring back the glory of his freshmen year.

Just read Bama fan board. Lee was great as Freshman. Got injured in 2020 and couldn’t get healthy, sports hernia. Was healthy in 2021 but lost starting spot to Henry To’o. To’o. Henry is coming back so Shane entered portal. Should be healthy and productive for us.

Return from sport hernia is TOUGH.
I recall that Donovan McNabb–a real tough competitor–struggled to return from such injury.

I think the Trojans are getting a lot of hungry players that are good players that, for many different reasons, got lost in the system . With very good coaching, that I believe they will get, they will do quite well. Many of them anyway.
