What is going on with safety Isaiah Pola-Mao?
He is not with the football program. He is apparently not turning pro. He has not entered the transfer portal.
Pola-Mao went from being USC’s top returning safety to having a poor senior year. He does have another year of eligibility. So is he going to play at another school?
Pola-Mao needs to figure out his future. It’s dangerous to wait too long. Look at linebacker Palaie Gaoteote, who took forever to get his situation sorted and didn’t make much impact at Ohio State. He played in seven games and made nine tackles.
Maybe Pola-Mao could go to SMU and reunite with his former safeties coach Craig Naivar? But what did Naivar get out of Pola-Mao last season?
- Is USC going to keep referring to UCLA as “Other L.A. School” even after a loss? It’s juvenile to keep doing it all the time. UCLA is supposed to be obssessed with USC. Not the other way around.

I’m hammered. Really hammered. By accident I took a double dose of my hydrocodone pills and thought Riley was going to install the single wing offense this spring with me as the tailback. That’s how hammered I am I know. I know. You are thinking he’s hammered and that explains his posts all the time. But no. I am doing this as a public service. When you get really really old be careful with your meds.

A hammer is too aggressive, George, try being a more passive nail. And MG has a doctorate title, although not medical, so follow his advice about getting plenty of water.
And you are correct, you ol’ Tirebiter you, after getting hammered (oops)
51-0 by ND in 1966, OJ went back in 1967 and plastered them 24-7, with 1968 and 1969 ending up in ties.
The old memory is still intact, George, so be more careful with your meds–we still got some miles left in our old bones (or maybe it is only yards, but either way, we got to get through the 2022 Season at the very least!)

Isaiah Pola Mao will probably play for Clay Helton, because he’ll be reunited with one of the the great football minds in college football. Nobody’s better at developing talent, and he will definitely get Pola-Mao to the NFL. The USC administration were fools to fire Helton, because he was the best thing going on the west coast.

Sarcasm humor only goes so far. Would it not have been more effective if “Lynn Swann” had said that Ton-o-Hel was close to completing his 10-year SC Coaching Apprenticeship, and that Georgia Southern will now reap the benefits.

I put some money in Clay Helton’s pocket, because I think he was the greatest coach USC has ever had. He just needed a few more years before the Trojans started blowing out SEC teams. I probably should’ve signed him to a ten year extension so he could’ve proved me right.

Don’t you just love it when USC lives rent free in the minds at ucla?
Pola-Mao in my opinion will not be missed that much. His slot will get filled and USC will move on. If he leaves ok, if he stays just make sure he is plugged in and giving his all.

“Poor” Senior season? Try god-awful. If there are going to be at least two more windows for athletes to transfer in to SC, he needs to vacate that spot.

I heard Bru McCoy has been cleared by USC with no futher charges/penalties, and can re-enter school, but not sure if this is true. However, he has also entered the transfer portal for good reasons I am sure based on what has happened. I wonder if Lincoln Riley has reached out to him at all because this guy can play multiple positions including linebacker, and wide receiver. He must be really doing the research on where to transfer, and my guess it will be UCLA, or Oregon unless Riley takes a stand and welcomes him back. Someone is going to cash in because he is an excellent football player.

I don’t think Bru McCoy or Pola-Mao will be returning. I think Lincoln would rather have players who are locked in. Also, the least amount of players from the last regime the better. USC last 5 years have been a complete train wreck.

I think you just mind-melded with Lincoln Riley, F. U.

Scooter,
I am hoping that Riley is upgrading the talent and this may be an upgrade by not having him return. The defense last year was torched by most teams. That is because the players did not have enough talent, no discpline, and schemes. Not enough time to evaluate, just start from sctratch.

The “Other L.A. School” is like when Urban Meyer would call Michigan “That Team Up North” and OSU would do the cross-out emoji in the place of the letter M. Probably fun if you own the other team like Urban did.
