USC coach Lincoln Riley has paid $17.2 million for a house in . . . wait for it . . . Palos Verdes.
Of course.
Riley purchased the “Roessler Estate” named after the first mayor of Palos Verdes, Fred Roessler. It’s not far from Palos Verdes Intermediate School (half a mile to be exact).
You knew Riley was going to be part of the USC South Bay Mafia. The only question was whether he would move to Manhattan Beach or Palos Verdes.
Riley is the third straight USC coach to live in Palos Verdes.
The original price of the house was $19.5 million. The house sits on 3.17 acres with seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and more than 13,000 square feet of living space.
Good choice. Some of the best schools in So Cal, and much more space, more trees/greenery, and less congestion/craziness than Manhattan Beach. Ocean breezes, probably 325 days out of the year in which the high temp is between 65 and 80, low humidity, a far cry from Norman, OK or Louisiana.
A bit of a commute, however. Maybe USC threw in a driver for him.

I’d say it is a slight upgrade from Scooters 1 bedroom apartment in Reseda. I’m sure Scooter will get an invite to the house warming. #Notgoingtohappen #ThanksEnfield

Is Scooter residing at the South Seas apartments with Daniel Larusso?
I did not know that.

Nasty commute. It can take a half hour from Wiley’s home to the freeway alone, and then enjoy the 110-Crawl.

He could throw in his own driver with the size of his paychecks. Combo driver, body guard.

But does it have an underground bunker, in which he & his family can wait out the radioactive decay from all the nukes? 🙂

If Lincoln Riley doesn’t have USC ranked in the top 5 two years from now, the pressure will be on.

But that is not Steve’s fault, MG. The AP voters just did not place the emphasis his 7 wins per year deserved.

If I had 7 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms I would only have to make up my bed once a week, and clean the bathroom once every 2-weeks. Now that would be the life!
Seriously, I would rather have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1000 foot apartment right on the beach 100 feet from the water’s edge than Wiley’s off the beach mansion. Oh, I did have that, for 32-years, and there is nothing like the sound of the waves putting you to sleep every night.

Well, Ed, Wiley could not afford the Bel Air home that just went for about $150 million, so he had to settle for this $16+ million hut. Must have broken his heart.

It just seems so creepy to me that you get so giddy over where the coach lives. Why don’t you just tell everyone where you live. What’s that? It wouldn’t be appropriate and would be off topic.

Scooter and creepy are bed fellows. When has Scooter had topics? He just combs the web for anything negative USC and rehashes it here. Get ready for WSJ article “topic” soon.

Scott is creepy guy so no surprise there. What is next, will Scott be going through Riley’s trash cans looking for tidbits of info.

Now Riley will be able to observe Bay League football powerhouse Palos Verdes High and maybe pick up some pointers from the excellent staff there.

Property taxes go for your street cleaning & repair …and police protection —so it’s really worth it. California is tops in those areas!

I fear the potholes in the streets more than I do criminal activity. Perhaps on a slow day we could have the police repairing the streets.

Michael: Just saying the President position at USC is the very top, and in most organizations it’s the top paying job. My concern is Carol will see this house, and sue USC based on equal opportunity in that she is an underpaid female employee with more responsibility, and should be paid equal or higher than the football coach, or the University should purchase a similar house of equal market value.

So seven bedrooms? Does that mean our new quarterback will have a room with an en-suite? It’s private property. If Riley gets key players into his living quarters, can the kids play football in the back yard?

My opinion is if Carol needs an upgrade in housing she needs to resign or move in with Lincoln Riley with the complete understanding she now reports to Lincoln Riley, and whatever he says goes.

Reason for housing differential? Riley actually has to produce a measurable product. There are no metrics for Carol’s “Let’s Be Righteous” program…..
