Morning Buzz: Some USC Fans Are Angry

There seems to be a segment of USC fans who think the world is against them.

The most recent example is the backlash over the possible transfer of wide receiver Jordan Addison.

I hope it is a small minority who believe everyone is against USC. Otherwise, USC will become like Oregon football or Arizona basketball fans, who often get accused of being provincial or insecure.

Remember, when you are the big dog, you don’t punch down. If you think USC is back, then it doesn’t matter what others think, including Oklahoma fans.

Meanwhile, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi still seems angry. Here is what he said about Kedon Slovis last weekend.

  1. Coach Narduzzi went on to explain the underlying philosophical distinction between chaste portal use and unchaste portal abuse —
“It works like this —if a player comes to Pitt, that’s the proper use of the portal — if a player goes elsewhere, that’s a grey area —and if a player leaves Pitt to go to USC, that’s evil….”

    1. After looking at the Oklahoma and Pitt reactions regarding transfers to SC, I’m starting to see a pattern of dislike/envy/hate for SC.

      1. CalSeventyFive, I agree. The jealous haters are haunted by the Pete Carroll days and they see Coach Riley is a charismatic wizard. They are concerned Coach Riley will get SC into the game sooner than they hoped and their teams will be no match for what Coach Riley has in mind for a USC FOOTBALL TEAM.

      2. CAL75,

the hate has been there for three centuries, from 1880 until now. People hate SC for many and different reasons, some thoughts are: it is a rich man’s school, SC cheats, better players, players were bought, and on down the line. Best way to shut them up is to accomplish things in the world and win championships. Some of the people have an actual gripe and others are hurt feelings.

Don’t take a offense, but the hippies and antifa of CAL piss me off. However, I look deeper and I see the school actually helping students become something of themselves. That makes me happy. Besides CAL is a beatuiful school.

However, there is no love lost for the ever cheating ruins of westweird. Nothing good comes from that atheist cheetin’ school, nor do I want to look for something good.

That coupled with his inability to foresee a problem with creating The Ministry of Truth illustrates yet AGAIN how stupid 81M people were. Or as MG points out, 60M plus “a few million” that were scanned multiple times.

      1. In his first year in office, Biden did just 22 formal sit-downs, compared to Donald Trump’s 92 and Barack Obama’s 156, according to data from Towson University’s White House Transition Project.

We are more than 33% of the way through the year and Biden has only done one interview with a news organization so far in 2022! The people pulling his strings won’t allow it. Millions of brain dead fools voted for this.

If you ever feel stupid, just think of Biden voters. That feeling you had will quickly go away.

  3. Not the world, just the SEC, Big Ten and Notre Dame. Go back and dissect the Bush saga and all of the clues are there.
    1. 2006 Spring Pro Day was described in the LA Times as “The Mother of All Pro Days” Shortly thereafter, NCAA banned Recruits from attending Pro Days due to perceived ‘ Unfair Recruiting Advantages”. Who do you think was targeted?
    2. An Infractions Committee Member/Advisor stated: “USC doesn’t get it like Miami did. Miami hired Paul Dee (meaning a man of integrity). What does USC do? They hire Lane Kiffin”. Other than Al Davis at that time, who had that much Venom against Kiffin? Why, it was SEC Commissioner Mike Slive, who would not even use Kiffin’s name, only referring to him as that ex-Tennessee Coach.
    3. A TV Ban was discussed by the Committee. Didn’t happen because Notre Dame stepped in knowing it would hurt them.
    4. Texas A&M dropped a Home and Home Schedule with USC shortly after entering the SEC. They ended up playing Pac-12 teams those years anyway (UCLA/Arizona State).
    5. Plenty more than these examples.
Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it.
Fast forward to today: The SEC et al knows that they can not compete with USC and the LA Market NIL resources if SC is any good, unless Walmart steps in to help Arkansas.

  4. Hey Scott, go and find out what Colin Cowherd is referring to when he says that there will be a big announcement in 12 months that people wont believe, but it will make sense. My guess is that USC football either withdraws from the Pac-12, or it strikes its own media rights deals for some/all the football games. USC should have the biggest media rights deal in the country, bigger than Notre Dame.

Lincoln Riley is in a hurry to put together a championship level team because we need to be at that level to put together the right media rights deal starting in 2024.

Give USC a primetime slot every week with games against Texas and Michigan and Miami and Clemson and other teams that will generate a massive media deal

  6. SUCC leaves the Pac-12, so f**king what. Don’t let the door hit you in ass on the way out. SUCC has been whining about leaving the conf. for years, but they never pull the trigger. SUCC only pulls the trigger to cap itself in the foots.

GameTV what makes you think Tixas, Michigan, Miami, Clemson will schedule the bozos. You can bet the bozos wouldn’t schedule Alabama.

Lest you forget TV, Clown U lost to a 41 point ‘dog Stanford team at the crumbling mausoleum, 22-21. Oh the humiliation. Be careful what you wish for. SUCC FB can’t stand real competition…ex: with 10 mins to go and up 12 points, SUCC loses to Tixas in the NC game.

      1. C’mon MG, UCLA shared the FB NC 1954. That year UCLA bitch slapped SUCC like 38 – 0 should have played Ohio St. in the RB. But in the 50’s teams weren’t allowed to play in consecutive RB’s and that sh*tty rule robbed UCLA a chance of a full NC.

SUCC lobbied hard to take UCLA’s place in the RB and lost to Ohio St. like 40 – 0. Clown U, what a joke.

    1. Just Rent,

Just to let you know since you don’t know this because of your continual drunken stupor, USC is the flagship in the PAC 12 for college football. If SC were to leave, the PAC could never recover and they would look like the Sunshine Belt league. PAC 12 needs SC, SC does not need them. The TV revenue alone that SC makes for the PAC 12 is more than most of the conference combined. Do you think the ruins of westweird can carry the PAC 12? If you say yes, they you better stay in that drunken stupor.

  7. Narduzzi’s moronic statement will alienate Addison if the guy was considering coming back to Pitt. What a moron.

Second, Slovis was 10-21, for 64 yards and one interception. The guy Kedon is competing against for the starting QB position did much better. So Narducci is, let’s say, less than candid in claiming that Kedon is “special”. He might be a special guy, but certainly is not a special QB, at least not right now.

  8. Saying that the NCAA hates USC is not fans being angry. It’s merely calling a spade a spade.

Claiming it means we’re angry is akin to someone walking outside and saying it looks as if it’s going to rain. They’re not necessarily upset or happy in making the assessment. They’re merely making an observation.

The same is true of us, based on historical data.

Historical data like: Commissioner Larry Scott saying he wanted to “even the playing field in the Pac 12” [i.’e, let’s fuck over USC every way we can], NCAA investigating USC as “an institution” rather than Bush as a player, NCAA Appeals Board literally laughing Haden out of their hearing, CBS saying that Pete was “hurting” college football by inviting Hollywood stars to stand along sidelines during games…
…And then there’s the rich & deep confusion & self-delusion of people like Carol… [“I hear the voices of the protestors [who are at this very minute burning the adjacent neighborhoods] . ..I understand the anger of our players… I feel their pain…I hope they know I walk this Path with them”]……

Side 1: SEC – It Just Means More. Side 2: USC – We Just Pay More. That would piss off some good ole boys down South and likely get us some Lineman and Linebackers.

  13. The rest of the country is just jealous. There are a lot of people who hate USC football. These people are like real white racists nazi types(if you can find any). They don’t hate blacks as long as blacks stay in their place. I once knew a white racist. That’s what he told me….”as long as blacks stay in their place, blacks are fine”…..they just don’t like it when blacks try and move up in society. These USC haters are the same way. They hated John McKay, they hated John Robinson. They had no problem with USC in the 80’s and 90’s. Then Pete Carroll came along. At first they welcomed him…..until he started to turn the program around and turn it into a powerhouse. Then they hated him with a passion.  The NCAA went out of its way to destroy the USC football program. First of all there was the Pete Carroll rule where they tried to tone down his recruiting prowess. Finally they dug up dirt against them in 2010. I once read a article by a guy who was a former investigator for the NCAA who tried to find rule violations. When he wrote the article he was already retired. He said that generally these investigations don’t take very long…..a year or a year and a half at most. He said that if you haven’t found anything by that time, then there’s nothing there. The NCAA investigated SC for 4 years just looking for dirt. He said that if after 4 years, all they had was a rule violation that didn’t happen on campus but 100 miles away in a hotel room involving one player with no connection to coaches, professors, tutors or anyone else associated with the university(which is what happened), then SC must have had one of the cleanest programs around. He really blasted the NCAA.  A whole lot of these schools are out in the middle of nowheres. The only thing they have in the town is football but football is the biggest thing in town. It just drives them up a wall that SC has the weather, academics, hollywood, the ocean to surf, the mountains to ski, the deserts for dirt biking and they have great football tradition too. These USC haters would prefer to not see any football west of the Mississippi.Let these sunshine boys play beach volleyball, surf, badmitton or whatever else they play on the west coast but not football. Football is a mans game.  That’s why they loved Clay Helton so much. Whenever they talked about firing CH, you had a million of his defenders like Kirk Herbstreet who stood up and said CH was doing a fine job. They all knew that SC football was a sleeping giant. Since they hated SC, they wanted them to remain sleeping. They liked CH because he was a mediocre coach and as long as he was there SC would stay in its state of hibernation. I read one article that said that LR has officially become the villain of college football. He’s the villain because they know that he’s the one guy who can bring SC football out of its coma and he’s starting to do it. They really don’t hate him. They hate SC. Had LR gone to Washington State, they would have praised him. Had Addison Jordan gone to Washington State, they would have praised him. I think it was Chris Aldridge who said that it really feels good to be hated again. I agree.

    2. I’ll take my speculation one step further. The reason Haden didn’t want to challenge this with the NCAA was he did not want anyone digging too deep into the Athletic Department and find out about the Varsity Blues crap going on. That token appearance he made at the NCAA after Penn State got relieved of some sanctions for Sandusky was for show. With McNair’s litigation going on, there was no way in hell the NCAA was going to admit to do doing anything wrong.

He’s not a USC fan(although he’s not necessarily against USC). If I can find it I’ll post it again. He was in high school in Georgia at the time USC went down there and destroyed Auburn 23-0 on their own field in the first game of there year(2003) at a time when all the pre-season polls had Auburn rated #1 in the nation. He tells how everyone down south was outraged….”how could this have happened”. USC football is hated especially in the south, midwest and east(especially the south).

USC has a history in football UCLA does have a history also but …….there are 0 national championships, 0 Pac 12 Championship, and ONLY 1 Heisman Trophy winner Gary Beban who got cut from the NFL during pre-season. The Bruin football program is for losers. If it was not for Terry Donahue UCLA would probably have to drop football, and stick with softball, water polo, and ping pong.
