USC Saturday Buzz: Yet Another Jordan Addison Update

Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison is visiting USC.

A USC player tells me there is a locker set aside for Addison, perhaps a sign of USC’s confidence although he is still supposed to visit Alabama.

    2. If Addison was a smart fella, he’d sign with Alabama, because that’s real football, not PAC 12 bullshit . Bama’s been producing #1 draft picks at the receiver position consistently, and a national championship to boot .

  2. Wiley looked as if he really enjoyed himself, and boy, is he ever getting the Los Angeles experience, in spades. He is more reserved then Carroll but possesses the same cool class. Win or lose, glad SC has him (although it is always better when Troy wins, of course)

    If Addison is trying to maximize his NFL potential he’d probably be better off as a Crimson Tider. At SC he’d have to split time with the other fine receivers. He just might see it that way too.

    1. Alabama has some great receivers too. Either way he will have to split time. Playing for Bama or SC will not be like playing for Pittsburg.

  3. We really don’t need another receiver but if we could get him that would help recruiting immensely. What we need is O-Linemen. LR’s offense quite often sends 4 or 5 receivers into the secondary(sometimes 6). That means that there is less people to protect the QB. They need to turn that O-Line into a extremely solid unit.

  5. Cal75 got down the correct wording but with the wrong meaning

    SC is indeed the ‘LOOKOUT SQUAD,” as in
    ‘Lookout Berkeley, lookout Midget Bears (sucla),
    the Trojans are about ready to march right through you two
    and leave you with nothing but leftover bear scraps (Yuk!)

  6. The guy that SC cannot afford to lose is Duce Robinson from Arizona. They have him listed as a tight end but he’s not a tight end and I doubt that SC will use him there. Watch his film. He rarely lines up as a tight end. He’s a splitting image of Drake London only he’s taller(6’6″). Throw the ball up to him and he’ll go up and grab it (alley Oop style) with 3 defenders around him. I’d actually rather see them get him than Addison(although if they can get them both, that would be great). Addison only has one year left. Robinson has at least 3 years to play. He’s a 2023 recruit and right now the crystal ball says 100% USC. Hopefully, that won’t change. Check out his film. He really does look like Drake London.

  7. Everyone thinks USC is going to come out with the same O line play they had last year. Just watch!! New blocking assignments, new techniques, added help, and a quality staff to teach them. They have to be better than last year, and now with a QB with wheels the defense has to play off a little more. But the doubters will hate, and show themselves to be the fools they are.

    2. With this I agree. It’s not who blocks anymore it’s who am I supposed to block? The past two seasons the line looked more lost than a man in the sanitary napkins aisle. Watching spring ball I saw fewer whiffed blocks and more assignments be carried out.

  8. Since 2017, the most catches in a season at OU was 75. TE Mark Andrews caught 65 one season and two others caught 62. Pretty balanced. Maybe Addison gets 100 catches at USC, but I doubt it because they do have some other talent.
