Jordan Addison To USC

The expected became official this afternoon.

Former Pitt WR Jordan Addison has transferred to USC.

I could see USC starting a game with Addison, Brenden Rice and Mario Williams.

Addison caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 TDs last season.

  1. This is a statement. Love the photo of Caleb and Jordan. A real recruiting poster. The haters are going to throw their jealous comments, but Lincoln deserves his 17M house overlooking the Pacific for what he’s achieved in months. I am finally looking forward to USC FOOTBALL.

    2. If they are going to criticize LR then they should be criticizing Jimbo Fisher because everything that Saban is saying about him is true. But then again, it is also true about Saban. But, I guess, the haters don’t go after minor characters like Saban and Fisher. They go after the most hated football program in the country…….SC under LR. It’s actually sort of good to be hated and hopefully a football powerhouse again like under Pete Carroll. I never liked being loved and mediocre under CH.

  2. Wow!!!! Lookout Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Ryan Day, and Jimbo Fisher, USC is going to kick your asses now. Lincoln Riley will work wonders without any talent along the offensive line 😂😂

      2. Sadly, Urbie kicked himself right out of the nfl coaching ranks for life. I hate to say it, but maybe, just maybe, our Carol had him pegged right as being radioactive.

  3. Just another building block for the national championship run.

I know that many wont believe that SC is really going to win the Pac-12 this year, but the probability is now above 50%. I really like that JUCO O-line talent they got the other day as well.

The team culture Riley is developing is very important. There is alot of development going on at USC, finally. I see a highly effective o-line that will do well as long as it stays healthy. The d-line is also going to exceed expectations. This defense will be much better than most are yet willing to dream.

Love to hear that the SEC coaches are tearing each other apart now. Pretty soon they wil realize that the real challenge they have to face is USC stealing talent from anywhere in the nation.

    1. USC can’t compete with the top SEC teams because of their lines. You can have all the skill players in the world but they’re useless when the QB is getting destroyed every other play.

      1. Oh, I agree that USC will not win against the top SEC teams this year. But they only need to beat Utah and Notre Dame and maybe UCLA will be a decent team as well.

      2. I actually agree with you. You are not going to win NC’s with receivers and D-backs.

      3. Smackyd,

As you know, SC used to ahve the best oline every year, year in and year out. Now, they can’t even hike the ball without giving up a safety or a td. .

  4. I am glad to see USC finally outbidding Texas for a big recruit like Addison. This should help recruiting, in general. But, the fact is, USC doesn’t need more receivers. I’m still not convinced that Addison will be the most productive receiver at SC this coming year. SC’s receivers are that good. What we really need is some 4 and 5 star O-Linemen and maybe one more interior D-lineman(like Matayo from Bosco) and maybe another middle LB.

    1. You got a 4 or 5 star O lineman in mind. If you look you will see they just are not out there right now and it is to late to enter the portal now for next year. What we have and what is in the portal is all there is.

      1. Is it too late? I could be wrong but I thought that they could enter right up until fall.

    1. It doesn’t. Woods was one of the stronger people on the field. Lee was just a straight up Reggie Bush level freak who Lane Kiffin ran into the ground – remember the ASU game. Agholor was 1st rounder and all three were top-40 picks.

    2. What about Pittman, St. Brown and Vaughns in 2019? They amounted to 260 receptions, over 3100 yards and 23 TDs

  5. Addison caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 TDs last season. He won’t put up those numbers at USC, but he, Caleb W, Dye, Mario W et al will be very potent offensive skill position players; maybe the best group in CFB. Then, throw Riley’s offensive scheme into the mix✌️

Nope. It’s all about NIL and the portal. UCLA has no place in either.

  7. I see USC ranked #4 in a way too early 2022 ranking of college football. OK, that is too high for even me. But top 10 I could definitely see.

They just need to keep players healthy because a lack of depth in certain positions is the biggest problem for USC.

  8. What is going on here? NCAA needs to put a stop to this. In one offseason you build a dangerous offense??? At this point who needs O linemen? or a good defense?. This s*** isn’t fair.

    1. Great point, wayne.
If you watch tape of the Pete Carroll and Layne Kiffin years, the WR’s were Great downfield blockers. During the Helton years, not really evident. I think Riles will make certain that the WR’s block downfield.

  9. From Su’a Cravens, confirming what all USC fans have always strongly suspected about the SEC: According to Cravens, the only schools that didn’t offer him money were from the Pac-12. He claims that’s because Pac-12 schools would’ve received “the death penalty.” Nonetheless, Cravens still committed to the USC. “I’ll just say this since people wanna cap and accuse others,” Cravens tweeted. “I used to be a 5-star recruit. Only schools that didn’t offer bread were Pac-12 schools cuz it would’ve been the death penalty for them, not just a slap on the wrist like the others get. I went to SC free of charge.” Cravens claims some schools offered him over $10,000 just to come down for a visit. “I had schools offering me 10-20k just to visit and all of em were south east of Texas since people lying I’ll speak from experience,” he added. “Recruiting was unfair up until NIL because only the SEC was allowed to openly pay for talent which is why they became so dominant last 13 years.”

    1. What did you expect? After all who was going to go after them when they cheat? That’s the job of the rules committee in the NCAA. Guess who the leader of the NCAA rules committee was(and I think still is)…….none other than the commissioner of the SEC. How’s that for a conflict of interest?

  10. …in my perfect world…
In the off-season the DB’s, QB’s, WR’s compete against each side and sharpen the DB’s skill sets, such that the Trojan defense presents a strong back 6 or 7 vs a less-than-talented Pac 12 offensive scheme.
    #coveragesacks?

Two-a-days in July/August will be vital.

The Trojans will probably get beaten up vs the run. ND, UCLA, Utah, Ore State will be tough games to watch. Irrespective, if the Trojan D is tough against the pass–esp in the Red Zone–then we should win a lot of games.

Gonna be far better than the past decade, no?

    1. Utah is extremely well coached and will always be tough —but they peaked last year. UCLA and Oregon State will be tough too —but we can take ’em. And Oregon as well.

Utah will be strong —I just think they lost a sufficient # of players to ensure we won’t see their 2021 lightening in a bottle moment repeat in 2022…..

  11. Very pleased that Jordan Addison will be transferring in. The USC passing game will be very difficult to stop, but it is yet to be determined if USC will have a strong running game which is a key requirement to be a Top team. No team has ever won a national championship without a strong running game yet alone made the playoffs.

We are loaded at wide receiver. Maybe too much depth, and one has to wonder if Tahj Washingon, Gary Bryant, Kyle Ford, and even the new transfer Terrell Bynum from Washington will be happy with less playing time, and fewer balls thrown their way. I think we should not be surprised if at least two transfer before fall practice begins because kids today want playing time now, and balls thrown their way or they will transfer out.

Still would like to see one or two more offensive linemen transfer in, and perhaps an inside linebacker. Are we good enough to win the Pac 12 right now absolutely.

I sure hope OWNS has bought his UCLA season tickets- The Bowling Green game along with the UC Davis game are what he calls “cupcakes” a total embarrasment but shows you how much the UCLA program has fallen in the last twenty years. I see more Pigeons, and California Condors in the stands for the UCLA-Bowling Green game than fans. Perhaps, UCLA should change their name from the Bruins to the UCLA Condors as the fans are becoming almost as extinct as the California Condor.

    1. I liked what I saw from the USC run game when I watched highlights of the Spring Game.

Riley loves the Run game. Our returning O-lineman did a fine job with the Run game in 2021. We will be fine with 150 ypg of run offense and 350 ypg of pass O.

    2. Owns should actually be happy. A great USC football team will actually be a cause of a much better UCLA team, just like it will be the cause of a much better Pac-12. Pete Carroll bettered the quality of the Pac-12 when he was there to the point that in his last year(2009) at SC, SC finished 5th in the pac-12(or 10).
