      1. Say What! 247 Sports has T. Curtis listed as 6’2″ and 218 lbs. So that means Curtis is probably 6’0″ and 200 lbs. SUCC continues to SUCC hind-titty recruiting.

I bet McKay is rolling in his grave.

  1. That’s a move in the right direction. We do need LB’s. But they still have a problem bringing in O-Linemen. But, unlike CH(who never fixed problems), I’m assuming that LR is just the opposite…..a guy who, when he sees a problem, he fixes it.

    1. I have told the story before, George, so I will keep it short:

On the OTHER’s blog, the OTHER was always bragging about himself, and one day he wrote how he was living the good life in Laguna Beach.

I retorted, “There is living in Laguna Beach, and there is living on
Laguna Beach. Never settle for less.”

Arrogance knows no bounds, and so I was barred by the OTHER. However, I was leading his Pac-12 football betting contest at the time, and so I told him he could bar me from his blog, but not the contest because it constituted a contractual relationship between the OTHER and me. I finished by winning the darn thing, and he paid out my winnings to The City of Hope.

      I haven’t looked back since.

      1. And you were not quietly whisked off to the cornfield either. Said person announced that Lawyer John would never post to that blog again. He deals with dissidents very decisively. What an honor to be on his no fly list!

      3. GT, there are quite a few people on this blog that have dual citizenship. They just don’t venture off the path when posting over on the Snob Blog. However, a few weeks ago (??) someone posted something from here and gave credit to our own Scott Wolf. I wonder if his citizenship has been revoked…

    1. Eddie, I also have pondered the meaning of “linebacker.” Presumably, the term arose because the position is backing up the linesmen in front of him

However, he could also be correctly called a “middlebacker” because he usually is between the defensive linesmen and the secondary.

We can file this under “Things I don’t need to know”

  2. Scottie seemed to miss that Tackett also had offers from Clemson, LSU, Michigan, OK, ND, Penn State, Georgia, Florida, Miami, in addition to Ohio State.

  3. To Michael’s inquiry as to what name could we give to the guy in the middle of the linebackers– how about the ‘Defensive Center’

And as for L.A. compared to the international Big-4 (Sorry Tokyo and Moscow), those cities have a true soul and spirit in their downtowns. L.A. is coming around, slowly, but many of its most interesting sites are in the hinterlands such as the Malibu canyons and San Gabriel mountains.

    1. They are going to prosecute him????? Are you kidding me? In California and a lot of other states you can shop lift up to $950 in goods and not get prosecuted. I’ll bet you if I look hard enough I can find a lot of things in Nevada that are a lot worse than what he did that they don’t prosecute you on. Really, the joke is on his high school who didn’t investigate this any more than they did before setting up a large school assembly. Nevada ought to think about spending more time prosecuting real crimes.

  4. Great oral commiment, but the Fall 2023 is still a long ways off for a high school kid, and many kids change their minds especially the top players who receive constant pressure from the other top schools until the day the kid officially signs which is a ways off yet. Great start in recruiting……..but it’s all about how you finish on signing day.

    1. ND’s media rights would be much more valuable as a Big Ten member playing marquee games than it would be scheduling ACC teams as it is now.

  5. AS A FORMER USC LINEBACK AND CAPTAIN, I THINK IT’S ABOUT TIME WE GOT SOME QUALITY DEFENSIVE PLAYERS. WE NEVER HAD RATINGS LIKE 3 OR 5 STARS, BUT IT DEFINATELY MATTERS WHO YOU GET. I WAS A HIGH SCHOOL ALL AMERICAN AND LED THE NATION IN TACKLES MY SENIOR YEAR. COACH MCKAY OBVIOUSLY LIKED WHAT HE SAW AND OFFERED ME THE SCHOLARSHIP. I WAS CAPTAIN OF THE FRESHMAN FOOTBALL TEAM, DEFENSIVE CAPTAIN ON THE DEFENSE AND CO-CAPTAIN WITH THE GREAT JIMMY GUNN FOR THE 1969 TEAM.
IT LOOKS LIKE USC IS MAKING PROGRESS IN RECRUITING AND GETTING RID OF HELTON’S SUB PAR PLAYERS.
