Here’s Another Debacle From Pac-12

The UCLA-Colorado game will be on the Pac-12 Network.

That’s four straight games on the Pac-12 Network for UCLA. It has to be a record.

You can blame their shoddy non-conference schedule.

But all I hear from people is what a genius George Kliavikoff is. Couldn’t he work out some sort of compromise to make the network more accessible?

And for the people who say to get rid of DirecTV. Why? For a lousy, two-bit conference like the Pac-12 and 2-3 USC games a year?

The goal of the Pac-12 Network is to add audience, not alienate it.

  1. My Dish package includes not only Pac-12, but Longhorn Network, SEC, ACC and Big 10. We get to watch a lot of games not on traditional networks every Saturday.

Yes, the most compelling matchups are on other channels. But if a particular team (or former USC quarterback) you want to watch is on one of the conference channels, it comes in handy.

      1. Lawyer John,
Your worries about ‘lost childhood’ are misplaced. As you can see from the “space alien”, “Animal House” and “Trump Placed in Leg Irons Today!” videos a certain someone is posting, it IS possible to remain a child forever….

  2. PAC 12 Network is a joke we all know from the Dodgers fiasco getting the product to a national audience. It’s a good thing that USC is resurging giving the PAC 12 some props n if they make the college playoffs this year or next. The contenders for to make CFP is is 8 teams ,Alabama Georgia, Ohio St. Clemson, USC, Michigan , Utah , Oklahoma . In order for USC to make it we must go undefeated really and I don’t see that if we don’t fix our defense . On defense we have limit teams for gaining 6 yards on first down. Teams are converting 3rd downs 70% of the time, which is setting us up to lose against balance physical teams, who will put our young CB in situations where they are confused because they don’t understand defense or they are not ready to be a starter. D. Jackson we need your length and instinctive playmaking skills to lockdown one side of the field. I’m ready for multiple new starters for Fresno St.

    1. Wait, with all due respect Eric USC has Max Williams, Calen Bullock, and other experienced backs but you call them young then ask for an untested Domani Jackson freshman to come in? Fresno does not present the height advantage that Stanford had.

      1. Steveg49 looking at the CB position who is stepping up consistently for us Did you see how open Stanford receivers were, how much cushion we give up, that isn’t going to cut against passing teams who throw like us. D. Jackson is 6 ‘1.5, we need somebody who will compete on every play in the secondary. No holding the receivers just be able to stay with your man without giving so much space. That is why we are giving opponents another opportunity to control the clock n keep our offense on the sidelines. Go look at our defensive passing numbers yds allowed, yds, per completion, 3rd rate percentage FD by penalty. Just saying we need put the best players on the field regardless of ☆ or class.

      2. USC DB’s are all 6′ or more except for Max Williams (5’9″) and Jaylin Smith.(5’11”) You surely are not going to take out Max Williams are you?

      3. Max is playing safety Jaylin is playing SC, I’m talking about the CB Blackmon is supposed to be the best corner, on 2 of those PI there was a lot of hand fighting, CB must turn and locate the ball while its in the air far too many Saturday & Sundays we see back shoulder catches because DB fails to look where the ball is or they are out of position. Another play if C. Wright would have turned around could’ve intercepted the ball that hit him in the shoulder. Maybe they need to watch old film of PRIMETIME AKA NEON DEON. If you know your faster than the man your guarding then run with without grabbing and locate the ball only grab to save a touchdown serious.

  3. Hey come on if anyone actually watched Bel-AirTech ‘maybe’ that would warrant concern…..their turnout wouldn’t max out StubHub (27,000)….it’s all about the ‘con’ …. hey the ‘peckerhead’ was good at that.

    1. Thanks Charles now everyone can see where we are in all categories versus the teams expected to be in CFP. Based on the number we equal or better, but overall 3rd on offense needs get better, rush per carry, yards allowed per completion, defensive pass completion percentage, we shore up that we will stack up with elite this year no doubt.

      1. Expecting a shot at the NC this year is asking a lot. Conf Champs would be great, and build from there. That stat does show an improvement in tackling.

      1. Hey MG, why doesn’t those defensive numbers feel like it’s making a big impact. 12 tackles for loss 5 sacks a game that is better than Georgia Alabama & Ohio St. Go figure. 3rd 5th in the country turnover margin top 10. Is it because they give up so many chunk plays and don’t fill the gaps in the run game and miscommunication between secondary. Just baffled by numbers when watching the game up close.

      2. I’m beginning to think we’re gonna have an uneven, quirky defense all season— one that’s brilliant 50% of the time and mistake filled the rest of the time….but that ain’t bad when you consider (1) how the D looked last year and (2) how strong the offense is this year.

  5. Monday Night Football and ESPN, you can pay Troy Aikman and Joe Buck $33 million a year, but not sorry to break it to you, fans don’t watch teams because of the announcers. They watch the team that they’re a fan of or games and teams that otherwise interest them. MNF, Sunday Night Football drank your milkshake.

  6. Pac12 network is there to broadcast games which prior to their existence lots of games were on local channels only. So it serves a purpose, not a great one, but gives us a look at the entire conference no matter how bad ucla is.

  7. My wife and I have separate L.A. homes, and since I have never owned a television, I go to her West L.A. place to watch the SC games, except for against Rice, she doesn’t have the Pac-12 station, which Spectrum informed her it would be a $12 add-on,
to which I told her to forget it, because if SC is on Pac-12 then it must be a lousy game.

Gotta bite the fricking bullet and get the fricking Pac 12 Network to see that crucial fricking game…

  9. Why is the PAC 12 network so stupid? I have had television packages from Uverse to Dish, from Spectrum to Cox and even a stint with T-Mobile. Some carried the PAC 12 and many didn’t. I have always had to pay extra for the PAC 12 channel no matter who my carrier was. I also got almost every other sports channel for “free” with my service. So I paid for four (I think) channels which I used one channel only two or three times a year. It may seem racist but I would trade any or all of the 30 Spanish speaking channels for just the local PAC 12. It’s stupid to pay yearly for a seasonal sports channel, so I don’t. Currently I am using my sister’s log-in on her subsidised TV package. I think it was Direct TV who changed my ethics on pirate TV. The sales guy told me they carried PAC12, when in fact they didn’t. I was stuck with a contract, so I found a pirate version of the PAC 12 on kodi . I believe the rebroadcast was from Russia and included a five votes for Trump. (see how I snuck that joke in?)
As for Ucla being on the PAC 12 four times, isn’t that how they get the other team’s fans a shot at seeing the game? ( not to mention the three or four thousand “local fans” too lazy to go to the Rose Bowl aka the sinkhole. (Not a joke)
