USC Finally Gets Four-Star Lineman

For the first time since 2019, USC has gotten a commitment from a four-star offensive lineman.

Elijah Page, who is from Phoenix, committed to USC today. It was expected after Paige decommitted from Notre Dame.

These are the type of commitments USC needs if it is going to really become a national program. The three-stars might develop once they get to college but research shows you’re better off with four-and-five star recruits.

So today is a good day for the future of the offensive line.

  1. Of all the recruits, one of the ones that impresses me most is Sam Greene a DT from Maryland. I cannot believe that this guy is only rated a 3 star. He’s quick. You see his quickness when he chases down plays going sideline to sideline. But when he rushes he just bullrushes and he gets big time penetration. Watch his film.He reminds me of a D-Lineman that Oregon State had back in 2010. His last name was Steven  Paea. He was a polynesian. SC had a good team that year. They were in every game that year except OSU. They got plastered in Corvalis 36-7. The reason they lost that game was because they couldn’t block this guy. He was in the backfield on every play messing up the timing of the plays. They tried double teaming him and they couldn’t stop him. Ever since then I always liked guys on the D-Line who could get penetration. Especially when you get penetration by bullrushing an O-Lineman. When you do that, you push the O-Lineman back into the backfield which really destroys the timing of the offense. When a running back has to go around an O-lineman or the O-Lineman gets pushed back into the QB, there will probably be a loss on the play.  This guy does that. Watch his film.SC also just got a committment from Elijah Page. This guy is big time. ND had 5 four star O-Linemen committed and yet they were lamenting losing this guy because they said that he was their best O-Line recruit. This guy should be a 5 star. Probably will be by the end of the year. They need to get rid of Grant Buckey. I don’t know what they see in that guy. He’s slow and he doesn’t look very strong. I guess they know what they are doing.

Especially when you get penetration by bullrushing me, and Cuming fast. When you do that, the smile on my face glows from here to Hawaii. Especially when you push your balls right back into my backfield which is really destroyed by my large black DILDO. 😀. —> 🍆

The parties have never been allowed to bring in witnesses and experts to battle it out. Now if we can flip another lineman or through transfer portal. I cannot see this one 4 star making that big of difference really. LR we need both tackles from Mater Dei for 2024 that is a must please prioritize that we have enough WR . Let’s focus on DL/OL at least 5 n 5. n the 2024 class. 1. Here’s the issue, in part! Anyone friendly to the blog can attest to this who’s played on the offensive line. If you’re sustaining your block at the college level for 3.5 seconds you’re winning the battle, great. The problem starts when Celab begins to leave the pocket trying to throw the receiver open.

This situation puts extra pressure on the linemen. They lose track of where the QB is and allow the pass rusher(s) a tactical advantage.

Caleb is still green and at times needs to step up into the pocket and trust the process, instead, his instincts signal a fight or flight situation, and he bails out. The perception is the o-line is doing a terrible job in pass protection…… Perception isn’t always reality!

The best QBs in the NFL make a living sitting in the pocket

      7. To help Henson and the oline, Riley might want to run power. It is less confusing for the oline on who to block which can create hesitancy. Drive blocking is a lot easier than taking on a block and then skiritng to another block. Run power I with two fullbacks, I formation, Tigth end just behind tackle, run counter, drive, between the tackles, run wide. Make it around 30% Power, 20% RPO, and then 50% pass. That might help.

Biden is not the racist that trump is. That’s my word of honor and the feelings of most of the country. Republicans need to own up to what trump is rather than sit on their asses.

      1. Trump was referring to the cartels/coyotes entering the country illegally as murders and rapists. Many of them are murders and rapists. Well over 50% of the women and girls escorted by coyotes are raped. Trump never called white supremacist good people although Biden and CNN claimed he did. He said that in regards to those who wanted to tear down confederate statues and those that opposed it, there were good people on both sides.

By the way, Biden in the 2008 primary campaign said Obama was a different black candidate than others because he was “clean” and “articulate.” And he told a black audience in 2012 that Romney wanted to “put y’all back in chains.” He was also the driving force behind mandatory/minimum sentencing for crack cocaine possession that was substantially higher than possession of powdered cocaine.

Black unemployment was at all all time low during the Trump administration. Black income increased at a greater rate than white income. He instituted investment zones with tax breaks in black neighborhoods and funded black colleges. None of this is consistent with someone who wants to advance racist policies.

“Don’t Cry for me Argentina,” I am simply trying to put a book out
called “The Crazy Things SC Bloggers Write” or something along those lines
I have saved all 4-years of writings and presently am combing through 2000-pages
The “I believe everything I read” religious crowd will love this–
Ragingly roaming threw my notes I throw out the non-universal stuff
(The stuff that would interest only an SC crowd), and the 50-50 stuff
and then put the “good” stuff (always looking for the ‘funny’) aside for
    hopefully national publishing.
This is like the Bible explaining the good stuff sheep go to heaven, and bad-stuff goats go to the other place.
I am gambling that ‘The World seen through a Sports-Filter” will sell, but it is worth a shot– Because with the likes of Michael Guarino I always knew he was working in a pond too small for his talents, he has ‘Broadway’ marked all over him

Finally, and then I am out of here for a spell, thanks GT and MG (and a belated ‘thanks’ to Ed.G)
The only ones on the Wolf-blog who tried to be-friend me in some way,
and so I have enshrined them with a nickname for the Ages,
Not as sharp as the ‘Wild Bunch’ but still parts a punch, “The 3 G-Boys”
(P.S.– they all have a ‘G’ in their name, clever me)

As for Guarino, sorry folks, but you just don’t get his depth,
and best of all you’re getting MG for free!–

Thanks be gifted to you, Michael Guarino, for not complimenting me but saying you liked my stuff, or at least some of it, actually, probably very little of it, but polls indicated that you liked the writings more than the other poster-bloggers by 73.2%,
that being the government’s final official tally.

But I will take-you on saying my writings were “Sometimes funny”– Excuse me,
I constantly look for the ‘funny’ in life except for occasionally stepping into debates regarding the slight trite ‘Trump-Biden’ Thingie
and whether the weather will get us in Year-2050 or whether we can make it to 2100

    1. Plow Horse,

I played oline and dline at Loyola. Our coaches went to see Bill Yoeman at Houston U for two weeks to learn the veer offense. They brought back the offense with no watering down. They told us that if we held our blocks for 4 seconds then you are doing your job. We got so good on the line that we called plays by aubalzing to the qb. the qb would change the play and he would go with it. We also change our blocking assignments and schemes on the line of scrimmage as well. In one game we ran 504 yards on the ground which was a CIF record for many decades. In my opinion we did run a college program in high school. We had Gordie Banks who played at Standford and then for Dallas and then for the Chargers. He ran 4.3 speed. We had another running back at the same time as Charlie White who was about the same height but a better build in terms of muscle who would take on anyone and anything. His name is Freddie Brown. He could have competed and won the job at SC agaisnt Charlie White. SC wanted him but he turned it down. His dad was Mister Universe and Freddie had the same physic. He ran 4.4 speed. Not too many oline call the plays. But you will like this. We as an oline could never get the snap count. If the ball was to be hiked on the count of 2 or 3, one or two linemen would jump on one or would be late. Finally the coach told us that the snap count would always be on one. So, to answer your question, I think high school kids can run at a college level. However some high schools do not run it at that level. We were fortunate.
