USC Morning Buzz: Arizona An Attractive Prospect From One Perspective

USC plays Arizona on Saturday. I hear Trojans wide receiver Gary Bryant is interested in transferring to Arizona.

Bryant is redshirting and expected to enter the transfer portal. The Wildcats are an attractive prospect for a wide receiver when you consider Jacob Cowing has 53 receptions; Dorian Singer has 41; Tetairoa McMillan has 28 and Tanner McLachlan has 23.

  • I’m hearing wide receiver Jordan Addison and linebacker Eric Gentry are not 100 percent recovered from the Utah game. Would you play them this weekend if they are cleared? USC plays Cal in two weeks so it’s not like you need to save them for that game but you might risk a reaggravated injury.
  • Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham is extremely interested in the Arizona State job. If yesterday’s rumor about Dan Lanning to Auburn came true, would Oregon make Dillingham the head coach?

Meanwhile, who will Colorado hire? Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes is considered a frontrunner.

    1. George, remember: Lancelot TRIED to abstain too. But he went on plugging Guinevere. [Dante Gabriel Rossetti did a painting of him trying to kiss Guinevere at King Arthur’s tomb —- I personally think that’s going too far. Best to escort her a few meters to the left or right first —outta respect, yes]?

  3. Before Lanning, Oregon offered the job to Justin Wilcox with the thought that as an alum, he wouldn’t use the position as a stepping stone to another job. Dillingham is a Arizona State grad (didn’t play football). Maybe he prefers ASU.

    2. While you are all spot on with the Coaching Merry-go-round Silly season, I–for one–have only one contribution…

      WGAF?
I don’t care about Zona. Just beat ’em.

I don’t care about Oregon. Just beat ’em and let them descend into oblivion in the new and not-improved Pac 10. Lousy academics.
Lousy weather. Repugnant fan base. Corrupt athletics.

I don’t care about ASU. Just beat ’em next year and “hasta la vista.”
Corrupt culture, repulsive fan base, inferior academics.

Back in the Big 8 days, I loved CU even though they were perpetual losers. They had a VERY BRIEF RUN in the 90’s. I had season tickets for 5 or 6 years. Worst fans I’ve ever witnessed (though I have on good faith that Oregon and ASU are equally as horrible.). I feel that CU should go to the MWC or give up CFB and become a men’s soccer school. “F” ’em.

The thing that these “pseudo” schools have in common was that they flew on the Coat-tails of USC and UCLA and raided our So Cal recruits with the offer of “major college” football and “getting out of So Cal for the “college experience.” SC and UCLA offer superior academics and a robust history of College Sports excellence. The above pseudo schools diluted the talent pool (adding Zona and ASU was the start, adding Utah and CU further exacerbated) over the past few decades and have lead to the decline of the Pac 10, and especially USC and UCLA.

      !Hasta La Vista F-nuts!

    1. I truly wish Wilcox would have gone to Oregon. And Musgrave followed him.
Cal needs to hire Troy Taylor. Or we might be destined to the Mountain West.

Wilcox fav line, “it starts at the top we’ve got to do better.” Well resign you fenker.

      1. I still like him, Cal.
Remember he beat the “Unmentionable” twice…

I’ll always be a Cal FB fan.
Sad that the alumni and student body don’t support the Bears enough.
I watched Cal Saturday night (the famous Marshawn MF bomb night) and was sad that the students showed no pep.

      2. Cal should never be relegated to the mountain west. Of the two campuses I have traveled to in the Bay Area, Cal was far and away the most civilized. I never felt stupid when I was decked out in SC gear and looking for something in the area. Cal could have a resurgence under a good coach and it would be great for the conference.

Do you understand the significance of chemo and radiation at the same time? My pathology was sent to the Mayo in Rochester. They couldn’t couldn’t come up with a definitive answer. My surgeon says, ” I won the lottery.”

      2. Hey friend. Chemo, radiation? Look up the website MyCancerStory.Rocks by Joe Tippens who beat cancer with Fenbendazole, a dog anti-parasite medicine pill. I know many people that have returned to normal due to taking it. You can buy Fenbendazole on Amazon, about $80 for 3 month supply. Tippens recommends taking Vitamin E and Turmeric with it. Tippens makes no money from Fenbendazole.

  7. The senate will see a 57 seat Democrat majority. McConnell put the Florida idiot in charge for a reason. The nut job from Alaska will replace Murkowski and become the new Kristen Sinema and monkeywrench the place. The House will set a substantial but not record- breaking Republican majority. Kevin McCarthy will get more than he bargained for. Nancy will be deposed by the Mad Moderates while the rest of us will survive Jerome Powell’s bumpy/soft landing. How? China needs us to buy more of their crap, Europe is literally thawing and Asia is in panic mode.

Gary Bryant should be ashamed of himself for running away from competition.
