It didn’t take Kyle Ford long to transfer to UCLA.
It makes sense with UCLA’s lack of quality of receivers last season and I’m sure Chip Kelly promised him a prominent role in the offense.
Still, it’s always a little weird when someone transfers across town — either way. Tight end Caleb Wilson, the son of former USC assistant coach Chris Wilson — went from USC to UCLA and got a lot more playing time with the Bruins.
He would never transfer to UCLA but I wonder why receiver John Jackson III hasn’t considered transferring. He could get playing time at another school and should have his degree by the spring. If I were him, I’d look elsewhere.

Kyle Ford will do damage to SC this year but it probably won’t be enough to offset the brilliance of Caleb Williams. I’ve seen a few clips of John Jackson and he seems like a pretty good receiver. He has most of the attributes his father had, he’s very quick at accelerating, but he’s much bigger than his father, and as you remember his father played in the NFL

Good riddance to Kyle Ford. Any player that transfers across town to the bRuins was not true Trojan to begin with. Even more reason to want to kick bRuin butt, if any was needed.

I’m with you, Ken. I can understand Kyle wanting more playing time —he should have been used more than he was. I often wondered why. But leaving for UCLA —so that you can play against your former school& teammates really says it all.

Hey mg Lincoln Riley does not utilize bigger tight end types like that he wants nothing but speed burner outside types chip Kelly does and sends them to the NFL

How about coaches and players of old? Sherman played at ugly and came to SC and he beat nd back in ’64. Dave Levey and Anderson were coaches at ugly and they came over to SC. They helped SC win.

Thinking back on just how bad the defense was at the end of the year, I calculated USC’s total defense over the last 4 games. In those 4 games, they gave up nearly 500 yards per game, which would put them at 128th out of 130 teams.

Or…as Coach Orlando would put it…. our “defensive priorities shifted toward the end of the season…and this led to yielding more yards…while being more effective overall…”

Maybe we can persuade some of the linebackers that can’t tackle and the secondary guys that can’t cover to transfer to UCLA. Tell Chip we will throw in the entire defensive coaching staff as a bonus for taking them.

Hey wolfman(bark @the moon)….There is more to life than playing football. Perhaps Mr. Jackson has directed his focus on achieving a solid education. So many kids undervalue the importance of getting a high-quality education from a prestige university like USC.

His sister plays on the soccer team and she is good. They are a total SC family. They are loyal to SC.

Plus, his father played football and baseball at USC in the later 80s. The father also worked in the USC broadcast booth up until 2018 when he had a stroke.

I agree about John Jackson. He’s a lot better receiver than a lot of people think. As far as Kyle Ford is concerned……maybe he just wanted to get more playing time and stay close to home.
