Morning Buzz: There’s One Area Where USC Is Noticeably Better

A USC coach tells me the biggest transformation this spring is along the defensive line.

Specifically, he mentioned two transfers at defensive end — Anthony Lucas and Jamil Muhammad — that have made the biggest impact. Lucas is from Texas A&M and Muhammad came from Georgia State.

I wanted to know how much better they will make the defense?

“They will make the pass rush a lot more active than last season,” the coach said. “They can make plays on their own. The other transfers are making a difference too. We’ll still need more from the rest of the front seven so I’m not making any big predictions but we are better. There’s no doubt about that.”

“The D-line is the one group where I can say we are markedly better.”

USC has added two other transfers — Kyon Barrs of Arizona and Jack Sullivan of Purdue. Barrs is a good pickup and bad loss for Arizona. But the tackles have a lot bigger shoes to fill because they have to make up for the loss of All-American Tuli Tuipulotu.

    1. You’re up bright and early this morning Eddie, how’s that peenus of yours that you love to talk about? Did you jerk it off to my picture last night?

    1. Next you will tell me that my beloved president who said on the air that he knew nothing about the FBI raid on Trump’s estate and then in private texts and e-mails revealed that Biden directly coordinated with the FBI to set up the August 2022 Trump Raid.

      1. It’s a shame that Dictator Joe has weaponized the DOJ. Even if you ignore what he & his team did with social media giants, this stuff is dangerous.

      2. So Cal — I realize lots of people hate Trump [who I’m belatedly warming up to …cuz… he gets the Big Picture: the dems are the G8 Party…and the G8 is a joke] —-they hate him SO much they’re saying stuff they’re smart enough to see is crazy —-like, for instance, the county [us] that just got humiliated in Afghanistan can defeat Russia and China at the same time, Ukraine is winning the war against Russia [texts say otherwise], our economy is booming [70% of the American people are living paycheck to paycheck] —- I only say all this cuz I like the folks on the “other side”….and don’t want to see them reap what they sow.

  1. — Guess I will have to say something here to offset the fakes–

But just who is this “coach” that Scott speaks of, does he actually exist?–
And just how do they communicate, certainly not on the field of play.
    E-mail pals anybody?

    1. Time to stop the fun & games —- time for the house to begin a serious drive toward impeachment. Force the dem Senators to acquit Biden of his crimes.

    1. Only insights we have along those lines all come from Caleb [I don’t trust the coaches]. Caleb, while complimenting the offensive line & saying they are playing well, admitted the defense stopped the offense like 6 or 7 times in their last scrimmage. That’s a lot. If our offense gets stopped 6 or 7 times in any game this year —we’re fucked.

  2. Talk is cheap. There is no way of knowing until the games are real.

As for all of the continuing demonization of the government… They all suck. But the military knows how to kill. Want proof? Battle of Conoco Hill. 200+ Russians eviscerated. Xi himself saw the Americans put out 30 Globemasters and drop 300 subsonic shipbusters in a training exercise and exclaimed “can we defend against that?” Biden is a criminal? What politician isn’t? He’s not getting impeached or they would have started the day the retards took the House. They don’t even get along in leadership. Jerome Powell runs the economy (while Yellen protects the rich) and the military kills anyone who gets in the bankers way. It’s called the Golden Rule. Read the released documents, it’s a joke how the world is run. No wonder aliens avoid us, we’re destroying our own planet.

Love it! Couldn’t agree more. We’re nothing but entertainment to them.

    2. “The military knows how to kill.” True, of course. Law of the jungle. The Constitution was supposed to be an upgrade. Now we have AOC saying the Supreme Court [the official interpreter of the constitution] is impotent …cuz… it doesn’t own a military to enforce it’s rulings. It was reported in a bio on Mussolini that one of his early deputies in the Fascist Party poked fun at the idealistic newspaper, Liberty & Justice, by saying, “We have a militia. All Liberty & Justice has going for it is The People —and the people are a third rate power.”
Ladies & Gentlemen, Girls and Boys, I give you USA 2023.

      1. Michael, your better than that. Those same people you mock ran Mussolini into the grave. They got rid of Trump and said nope to Al Gore, the man who invented the internet. They also ignored John McClain when he ran for president. AOC, like Boebert, Warren, and other members of Congress talk too much. There is no such thing as permanent solutions as we live in a land with a living law, flawed just like we are. Agreeing on the right direction may be hard but not going backwards is the key.

It’s like staying with Grinch when change is so tempting.

  4. I still think the biggest problem last year was the linebackers. So are we any better at linebacker? I assume that Tackett is going to have a learning curve and isnt yet the stud we want. Is Shane Lee still getting reps? Is Raesjon Davis getting reps? Riley talks about the depth of the linebacker room, but I am concerned about the quality of the starters.
