Why Did Mike Bohn Resign?

OK, the big question is why did Mike Bohn resign?

I’ve heard this afternoon that some hiring practices within the athletic dept. were under scrutiny by the administration, which conducted a review.

I’ve heard complaints the past few years from people within the dept. regarding Bohn. Some chafed at the Cincinnati mafia he hired and the decisions these people made. Others complained he was unapproachable and had a prickly personality or worse during interactions.

When these complaints reach the administration or human resources, you have a problem at USC. The word is he was actually on the hot seat for awhile.

The bottom line: Bohn was forced out.

Isn’t it amazing that in the media you couldn’t find a peep of criticism/scrutiny about Bohn other than yours truly until today?

Lincoln Riley won’t be able to bring himself to fire his boyfriend Alex Grinch and the couple will both resign together.

Riley and Grinch having been ousted from the closet are going to find a tough time finding employment as there won’t be any takers for a gay head coach and the incompetent fraud of a defensive coordinator that is his life partner.

      1. Actually, Riley will put everything into winning this season and then will leave USC. We can kiss any resurgence in USC football goodbye.

Folt will promote transgender womens teams, so our heros can now be dyke guys.

  2. Made a great hire in Reilly and the baseball coach but hey he has a “prickly personality” and the administration doesn’t like some of his hiring practices.

This is exactly why I criticized Folt a few days ago. The man did his job but was not woke enough and some in the administration didn’t like him. USC is no longer a “meritocracy.” It is a feel good about ourselves institution. You cannot run an organization this way. Want an example, look at the failing public education system with their guaranteed employment in the form of tenure.

    1. Your logic defies common sense. Tenure at public education? Pray tell, name some names! Comparing USC to UCLA is a terrible juxtaposition argument. The baseball coach? I believe it’s Stankiewicz! See, it’s not hard to bring facts to a debate, just move the mouse and fingers around much more and you’ll get there.

You are a member of UTLA. Are you actually saying that the LA Unified teachers do not have tenure. Again, this is a matter of public record. Be honest in your posts. LA teachers just received a 21% salary increase over three years after threatening to strike even though they refused to go to work in 2020/2021 and the kids suffered. Math and reading scores way below average and suicide rates up. Do you even give a sh*t about kids. The only kids that go to these sh*thole schools are the ones who cannot afford a private education and you oppose vouchers. Remember when your organization said you wouldn’t return to work until the LAPD was defunded. Do you need a citation? Should first graders wear mask? You supported this non scientific non sense. Kids developmental skills suffered. How about the experimental vaccines as a condition of attending public school even though kids are substantially immune from respiratory diseases like Covid. Your pal Newsom was set to implement that insidious policy with the full support of the teachers unions who always fund the governor. Should we talk to 2nd graders about their genitalia and tell them that if you have a penis that doesn’t mean your a boy. Are you in support of boys who self identify as girls sharing a shower with girls in the high school locker room. Your union thinks its fine. Do us all a favor and stay away from kids. God knows you can’t teach them how to think logically or write. I bet you don’t have any of your own.

    2. Bohn not being woke enough is a valid argument but USC before him was worse than not being woke. It was a closed old boys country club that made heinous internal or from inside the family/club hires.

Did Folt force Caleb Williams to paint his nails like a girl? Did Folt make it mandatory that the idiot Donte Williams wear women’s tights to practices?

You idiots are overplaying this woke shit. The only ones that have brought any kind of “wokeness” to the football program has been the players and coaches. Why don’t you give Caleb and the idiot Donte Williams hell, they’re the ones that look like feminine fools, thinking they’re trendsetters…Goddamn!

    3. That’s the problem with the whole country. You don’t hire a person because he’s a nice guy or he’s black, hispanic, trans, gay, good looking or a woman…..whatever. You hire him/her because, of the people available, he’s the best at what you want him to do. That’s why the whole country is going to hell in a handbasket. Starting with Beijing Biden and going down through all of his people in positions of power, you have a bunch of incompetents. There is not one competent person among them.
If I have a heart problem and I needed a heart operation and there are only 2 people available…..One is one of the best heart surgeons in the country and has been practicing for 40 years and is a jerk and the other is right out of med school and the closest he has ever been to a heart operation is in a textbook but he’s the nicest guy you will ever meet…….I’m going with the jerk.

    1. YoungDole, if your source is right then this was an agreed upon approach/whack job by Folt. Can’t wait to see what the next choice of AD is because a bad choice will have Riley in the NFL sooner rather than later. Folt didn’t even know who Lincoln Riley was until her family explained it to her, good grief.

    2. I wouldn’t mind seeing Mike Garrett come back. I thought he was a good AD. He hired Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin(who was a good coach). Lane got fired because he had poor defenses and he refused to fire his D-Coordinator(who was his father) and also he coached during the worst part of the sanctions. Another reason why they fired Mike was he was also hard to get along with. He wasn’t a guy who went to too many USC cocktail parties.

      1. I mentioned Garrett because I thought he did a respectable job at USC. And would have challenged the sanctions unlike Haden, who basically cowered down.

Speaking of Kiffin, he did great with the pieces he had to work with at USC. I really don’t think he should have hired his father and made him the highest-paid defensive coordinator in college football, especially after giving up 60-plus points to Arizona St.

I could see Kiffin taking over for Saban when he retires.

      2. Garrett did challenge the sanctions. That’s why they fired him. Under Nakias and Haden, they were telling the NCAA….”we’ll do everything you say to cooperate….please don’t hurt us any”!!! We saw how that strategy turned out.
Monte Kiffin had a defense that worked well in the pros. He never had a defense that could handle a mobile QB. As far as Kiffin is concerned, It’s amazing he’s still coaching because the sports media hated him and wanted to destroy him and today they have the power to do it. The only reason that he is still coaching is because he was such a good coach. If you win, the schools will defy the media and still come after you. Was he immature when he was at SC. Definitely!!!

      3. Speaking of immature, At the time, I couldn’t understand why Al Davis hired him at 31 years old, second youngest in NFL history, to coach grown men. The experiment failed rather quickly. Just one of the many coaching blunders Davis was known for.

My opinion on this, I think folt the Dolt wants a very political ass kisser in terms of wokeness and political crapness. Bohn did not want to follow her woeness and wanted to return SC to dominance. However, the woke people in the ad department are woke and cried foul when Bohn chewed them a new one Folt the Dolt fired him because he would not shake his ass for her. Now, I also believe that Folt the Dolt will hire the former nuclear secrtary that dressed as a girl but has red hair and a mustache. He, she, it just got fired. If Folt the Dolt goes woke and hires a woke AD, then fuck SC. Mckay, Hill, Goux, Boyd, Dedeadux, would be rolling in their grave if that happens., .

Apparently there were 4 current or former employees who complained, but apparently not of a sexual nature. The guy did not have a winning personality, my description being he is an introvert in an extrovert position, and I am sure he rubbed some people the wrong way, and Folt’s statement was not exactly a ringing endorsement of Bone’s accomplishments, but still, this does seem like minor league stuff not justifying his being removed.

But, as you constantly remind all of us of the “stellar” company that you like to keep, I’m curious as to why you thing this is a bad step by the administration? It’s not like he allowed the athletic department budget to go $100 million in the negative? Or failed to prevent his school for paying a $10 million ransom to earn $21 million more than the senior university? Which means that UCLA will only make $10 from it’s participation into the B1G.
