Pete Carroll is so bored he was at the Elite 11 quarterback showcase at Mira Costa High School last night.
USC is dropping the ball by not giving Carroll a part-time role of some type. You have an entitled cold fish (Lincoln Riley) who has refused to meet with alumni for 2 years. Why not get Carroll to do something where he can engage with fans/boosters/alumni.
Carroll has the time and he loves being around people. He also could help fundraise for the new football building, which I’ve heard has had some setbacks with heavy hitter donors.
You also need to use Carroll because Jedd the Fisch is a supreme bootlicker and will try to get Carroll to show up at Washington as often as possible.
WILLIE MAYS, RIP
It’s still hard to believe the Giants held a parade on the same day as their first home game in San Francisco. More than 200,000 attended the parade on April 14, 1958, and then the Giants beat the Dodgers, 8-0, at Seals Stadium. Willie Mays had 2 RBI.
Mays hit .347 with 29 home runs and 96 RBI in 1958.
- After the Dodgers and Giants played a three-game series in San Francisco, the teams’ moved to Los Angeles where the Dodgers also held a parade on April 18, 1958, right before the game!
The Dodgers rode in a motorcade from City Hall down Broadway to the Coliseum, where 78,672 fans watched a 6-5 victory over the Giants. Pretty good crowd for a weekday afternoon game.

It seems many of our sports and movie stars have been biting the dust lately but George Tirebiter lives on and today he is 96 as in the song “96-Tears”
And so in the words of Lord Byron- Let us have Wine and Women and Laughter/Sermons and soda-water the day after

Maybe the “entitled cold fish” Wiley as Wolf puts it doesn’t want the wildly popular Carrot engaging the Trojan faithful, or maybe Carrot feels as if it would appear that he has been defeated by returning to his old stomping grounds

The 4 lovely Chinese ladies holding up a “Welcome Giants” sign is kind of ironic in that the ladies probably don’t know a baseball from a soccer ball.
But the arrival of professional baseball was a big deal in ‘Frisco and L.A. because pro football and basketball took a backseat to baseball which was the national pasttime at that time

Always enjoy old photos of the sports parades in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Always well attended, the fans are impeccably dressed, and the parades are orderly. Compare that to today with the rampant crime, drugs, and homeless encampments. San Francisco now has a 50% office and retail vacancy rate. Drug stores and grocery chains are leaving. Progressive policies don’t always mean progress.

Plow —if you really want to see orderly parades and impeccably dressed fans you need to look outside the democrat run hellholes of San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Portland, Oakland, etc….

No one is giving Scott enough credit for predicting the games with Kiffin would get cancelled more than a year before it happened….

I wonder how many of us would be willing to have a previous very successful manager descend upon one’s program and then watch as the: media, players, cling ons et. al. all fawn over that manager. I remember John Robinson coming into practices at Howard Jones Field when Kiffin was head coach and later telling others what he saw and what was missing – wrong for Robinson to have said anything to anyone or be seen in the presence of such (4th estate scribe).
Lincoln Riley has a target attached to his back and he knows too well he’s earned it. His two mistakes were retaining Grinch after the 2022 football season and 2. Unable to rein in the dikats/behavior of Caleb Williams. Both of those issues are gone – no one person controls the offense anymore.
I wish Pete Carroll all the best elsewhere anywhere but at USC until this current upcoming season with the entry into the Big10 and the defense shows its’ progress. Until then there is nothing gained from having PC, no matter how benign, have any ‘presence’ whatsoever thru 2024.
LA Bowl III ‘Gronk Bowl’ is set for Wednesday evening 6 pm PST kickoff – SOFI. Great place to begin the Christmas Season just as long as USC isn’t one of the two teams matched.
