With Nebraska currently the westernmost Big Ten school, expect to see the Cornhuskers playing the Trojans every year.

Lincoln, Neb., is 1,500 miles from Los Angeles, a snip compared to Rutgers and Maryland and Penn State.

      Please tell this to USPS —they made their young people carry some artwork I ordered from a South Carolina Gallery to Puerto Rico —and then back to South Carolina…. and then out to Tennessee ….then out to San Francisco….then all the way down to Oakland….. where it’s resting until they figure out some other bad things to make their young people do….

  3. Rivalries are extremely slow to change. It won’t happen until enough old fans change their mindset, and until there are enough new fans who never saw/can’t remember what the old conference was like. 5-10 years, maybe more.

  4. Nebraska 3-9 last year with mostly close losses. Could be an interesting matchup if both programs have a turnaround. Like the new Big Ten matchups.

  6. What I want to know is how the divisions in the Big Ten will be with the L.A. schools. Heard it might stay at two but also heard four divisions out there. Don’t know if that is feasible but trying to see what a USC (and UCLA) football schedule will look like.

  7. Who cares if they’ll sitting on a plane for 3 or 4, even 5 hours. It’s not like they’re flying in steerage. They’ll all have their Beats headphones on, listening to music or playing video games. And they’re airport experience will be a little easier than the average Scott.

    1. If I recall being in my early 20’s correctly, College Kids flying cross the county feel like they are rock stars and not inconvenienced in the least. Also, just tell them it is preparation for NFL travel.

You have Pelosi ad Biden forcing their ways down our throat without going through due process. You guys are to be tolerant of others. That does not happen. If people disagree, which we have a right to, then your tolerant people destroy and try and shout out the disagreeing party.     You can call me old, stubborn, and pig headed, but nebraska and the other BIG 10 schools will not be considered rivals in my eyes. I always considered them to be a special non-conference game and would be excited to see SC play a Michigan or Ohio St once in awhile. Now we are to accept this as if it is the norm? That will be tough on me. I am used to the PAC 12 schools, ugly and ND being SC’s rivals. It will be weird to call the BIG 10 schools SC’s rivals. The only good thing about this is that i get to hate ugly even more. And to hate that Pagan Catholic school, ND twice as much.

    With all the calamity going on, It will be raining cats and dogs from now on. Thank you Ghost Busters.

  15. we are probably talking about 3 trips out to the east or upper midwest per season. that is an extra hour on a plane on a trip that generally takes most of the day to get on a plane and settle in, etc.

    they are going to want to match up USC with Michigan, Ohio St, Penn State, etc. You dont bring in USC to keep them away from those match-ups.

    the real travel challenges are for other sports that play more games, not football.

    i imagine Nebraska will hire a new head coach and try to raise their level of success, but it is real hard to recruit nationally to Nebraska, so the head coach needs to be a whiz at player development
