USC Morning Buzz: Can Lincoln Riley Change?

When Lincoln Riley got hired, Mike Bohn told several people on campus that Riley would not interact with alumni, etc.

And he hasn’t.

I’m still wondering if last season would change Riley in this regard. To this point, it has not. He won’t even go to the Trojan Football Alumni Club golf tournament, for example.

It matters because at USC the football coach has always interacted with others. Riley doesn’t think he has to do this aspect of the job.

Lane Kiffin might not have wanted to do it when he was at USC but I still remember him going to sporting goods stores and signing autographs.

It doesn’t matter if you win. But if you lose, you have no base of support to protect you.

  • Meanwhile, here’s how others dealt with people.

Neymar stopped to get a couple Brazilian soccer jerseys on the way to SoFi Stadium yesterday before Brazil played Costa Rica in the Copa America.

  • And Jason Kelce shocked a young boy from London outside Wembley Stadium at the Taylor Swift concert.

As a journalist, you failed on this write up. There are people that read this particular article and they do not know who Neymar is. As a journalist, you must describe who people are or describe the events. Some people do live under a rock

      1. gabbby, aka asswipe, aka waisted sperm,

You show your true colors of being a stupid asswipe with drool on the rectum. I have to teach you once again, people follow different things in life. Just because they don’t know something that you know does not make them stupid. they just don’t know. maybe because they lack interest in what you drool about, they lost interest in it, or their attention is someplace else.

So trying to think that you are superior over someone else does not work, douchebag. It just makes you an asswipe douchebag.

      2. Thank you for playing the game, with more babbling from you. I think you made my point once again.

Competent people use a search engine to get the info they lack……It’s too bad the concept of a search engine is beyond your intellectual capacity. You just solidified your position as the dumbest man on the internet.

Drool on the retum is a product of slo cal being up my a$$ 24/7. Glad to see you realized how pathetic he is!

  5. If Riley wins 10 games all of this silly criticism will stop. Really, the alumni golf tournament is not that important. Win and USC will have a top 5 recruiting class. Win and alumni donations will explode just like in the Carrol era.

    1. Wouldn’t be at all surprised by your hoped for outcome….Riley could easily prove himself to be the top notch coach everybody thought he was before 2023 [it would mean, however, that the Big Problem was Grinch and we wasted our last year with Caleb]….

      1. Retaining Grinch was the massive sincere foolish decision by Riley. He (Riley) brought him from OK. When Riley was pressed after the beatdown loss to UT to end the Pac12 campaign in 2022 and then confirmed by the last minute loss to Tulane Riley refused to make a change. Then came 2023 and the steady erosion beginning with the near loss @ CO and 3 OT ‘victory’ against AZ – finally the foe we both respect and loathe – ‘the princess’ total beatdown followed by home loss against UT barely a 1 point victory over Cal and then the home loss to WA. It was then 5th November that Riley finally pulled the cord. The damage had been done as noted by the losses to both OR and esp the solid loss to ‘Bel-Air Tech’.

5 weeks to change with ‘HRH’ Williams electing to ‘move on’ gave all a chance to revamp the offense with Miller Moss plus a new attitude on defense saved another post-regular season bowl appearance with a solid beat down of LOU.

Grinch is gone and so is Williams – neither of them did what they were supposed to do. The former is a coach looking for skill he doesn’t seem to have and the latter is a egotistical know-it-all who hadn’t the stones to ‘play the man’ after losses nor was willing to allow anyone or any play supplant what he ‘knew’ was the way.

9 weeks from this coming Sunday 1st September defeat LSU and all systems go!

    1. Thank you, 67! After listening to the talented and very diligent Miller Moss give his take on where the offense is these days [team ball rather than emphasis on individuals], I think Riley will be making a mistake if he doesn’t give Miller’s approach 100% support.

  6. ‘Miller Time’out of high school was also being courted by some of the big boys such as Alabama, and it is apparent why he is liked and respected by his SC teammates because he has almost a shy quality about him.

  7. Just caught a reccent interview with ‘Celeb’ and he was preaching how his Chicago Bears were all about the team and not the individual, but he didn’t say that was the way he played at SC

  8. Just got my Phil Steele College Football Preview—–USC and LSU are picked middle of the pack in Big Ten and SEC, respectively. Both have d-lines rated as terrible. USC has a WAY higher QB rating than LSU.

  9. wasted sperm aka asswipe, aka drool,

You flunked. When you bring something to someone’s attention who have to answer the who’s, where’s when’s, why’s, and how. You have to inform them of each item fully numb nuts. As far as drool on your rectum, that is your pleasure and I am sure you dream of So Cal everytime your cabana boy shows up and cleans you.

  10. Not worried about Miller Moss. Georgia and Michigan did not win the last 3 National Titles primarily because of their Quarterbacks. The other 21 on the field made the difference.
