Former USC cornerback Jack Jones was arrested Friday morning by the Santa Paula Police Department for commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to police records. He has been booked into the Ventura County jail. Both charges are considered felonies.
UPDATED: Jones and two high school teammates — Douglas Curry, Lohia Marks — were allegedly breaking into a Panda Express. Police found Jones and Curry inside the Panda Express. Marks had taken off in a vehicle before hitting a curb.
Jones was being held on $20,000 bail.

Jack’s life didn’t work out the way he foresaw it —-and now he’s in a nosedive. It would be nice if more young players adopted the Jimmy Connors approach: “Sometimes the match doesn’t start out the way you want it —-so you have to work extra hard and take it back.”

With what is going on at USC, I don’t think he will be invited back, even if he were to get his grades up and get cleared of the charges.

Cary Angeline: Gone
Nathan Smith. Medical retirement.
Oluwole Betiku: two tackles in his career.
Josh Imatorbhebhe: two career receptions.
Connor Murphy: three career tackles.
Trevon Sidney — three career receptions
Pie Young — zero career receptions/tackles
CJ Pollard — three career tackles.
Frank Martin — never seen the field
Liam Jimmons — career highlight is avoiding indictment for decking a WSU student.
Velus Jones — yet to make a mark as a special teamer.
Matt Fink — about to be leapfrogged by a true freshman who still has not gone to his senior prom.
Only players to make any significant contribution as position players are Michael Pittman, Tyler Vaughns, Vavae Malepeai, Jordan Iosefa, none of whom will make any all-American team and might never make first team all-Conference. Josh Fatu played some snaps, but he has graduated.
If USC falters this year, it will be because the 2016 class is a historically bad class.

I generally agree with you —-but this time I think you might be giving up on some guys too early. Personally, I’ll be surprised if every single receiver on your list doesn’t make important contributions this year (if given game opportunities).
