Interesting response here from the mother of USC players Munir and Abdul-Malik McClain. Her original tweet is below this tweet.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsTomorrow is game day for USC. #2 Is Still Suspended from football. Munir McClain is creating a narrative as to where the next generation of Young Men of Color will take their God Given Athleticism. Allow your sons to attend Universities that truly care. https://t.co/XqL6jgncBF

I am surprised USC would make the same mistake over and over again. They have been sued several times over due process and lost. What doesn’t make sense to me is why he would be suspended. Has he been charged with anything? Why take away someone’s rights when he is being questioned?

Matt Boermeester, another player who was dismissed because of another rape allegation that was found to be groundless, and Bubba Bolden. All three were denied due process. Sorry, can’t remember the second player’s name.

Damn, Matt Boermeester not only physically assaulted his girlfriend, he was accused of rape too?
Did the alleged rape happen while he was under Title IX investigation for domestic violence?

With regard to football players being unfairly disciplined part of the problem is the Title IX office dealing with Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation.
Instead of discipline being handled within the football program by the HC (running, game suspension) incidents, espcially ones of a serious nature, are referred to this office. The office has no love for football players. The office was even noted in Boermeester’s case for not following due process procedures in the subsequent CA case that he brought.
It seems some of the personnel in the office could care less about doing it by the book and are instead intent on getting the result they want – everyone is “guilty” no matter what, even football players.

Can’t believe her kids find this comfortable. I don’t know how Abdul Malik will negotiate his way thru this and it would seem both are destined for the portal at this point. Too bad.

Well this IS interesting. I am not sure if this site is for me anymore. Each email address used generates a unique symbol that represents the email address. One person on this page has 10 such symbols generated for his username. That is some next level trolling. And none of messages upon this thread has anything to do with the the purpose of the thread. It has developed into a prepubescent name calling.

How good is Slovis? Many thought he had a bad day last weekend….while completing over 71% of his passes and setting a record while at it…

Thx, Pudly – Many interesting comments here (some of which have been written within Scottie’s blog), the ones I really noted were Leinart on how Slovis has matured so much in the execution of the offense, Reggie on how Slovis is dealing with 7 drop zone coverage that will face in probably every game, and Urban on what the O-line needs to accomplish.

Can’t get more basic than what they said. But generally positive. Let’s see if the line becomes more cohesive and works better as a unit. They have three guys that are new starters and all playing different positions from last season.

Yep, it starts and ends with the O-line. A blend of vets and new guys there. You see some glimmers of solid execution on some plays. It should get better from here on.

Everything is according to point of view. Thinking back, John McKay would have dismissed a student athlete accused by the FBI of stealing public funds. He would have called the kid in his office, told him he was done and slammed the door behind him.
There wouldn’t be hand ringing or public shaming of the coach and program.
And this is far from the title IX case where the school has control. This is a federal investigation of a player on a football team hated by the NCAA. If the kid played one down of ball and was found guilty, the team would forfeit the game.
It is a no win situation made worse by a mother with a skewed sense of entitlement. The scholarship of this student hasn’t been impacted. The mother’s Tweet is an unmasked attempt to get her little boy some playing time. She is much like a little league mother yelling, ” let my boy pitch! ”
If I were the coach I would politely ask her to visit the place of eternal damnation. She has openly and publicly besmirched the school and its coaches in an attempt to deflect from the fact that her baby tried to cheat the system. If the kid is found guilty he should be required to make restitution in the form of repayment of scholarship money before any academic information is released for transfer.
If you think that type of punishment is harsh, consider the fact that this student occupied a scholarship, which might have gone to a rule following player, and refused to follow said rules. Ucla dismissed a student for stealing a laptop. What is the difference? (Other than being Ucla and always wrong)
