USC Has 20th Player Enter Transfer Portal

Ty Buchanan, a redshirt freshman offensive lineman, is in the transfer portal.

He is third USC offensive lineman to enter the portal, joining Casey Collier and Liam Douglass.

Buchanan and Collier were part of that group of Texas recruits that Graham Harrell and Co. focused so hard on because they couldn’t get players from Southern California.

And for people who think USC needed to wait to fire Clay Helton, you can see the amount of roster rebuilding Lincoln Riley thinks is necessary.

  1. San Francisco what a shithole for the West Regional. Good luck Jim Nance stepping around the homeless drug addicts and human feces getting back into the Mark Hopkins on Knob Hill.

      1. I’m sure they do a better job of policing the riff-raff around Knob Hill than they do in other parts of the city.

  2. LINCOLN RILEY ISNT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS ROSTER REBUILDING IS NECESSARY. WE ALL DO. AND HE IS OFF TO A GOOD START. NOW I WANT TO SEE ABOUT THREE OR FOUR GOOD O LINEMEN AND THE SAME FOR INTERIOR D LINEMEN AND THE SAME FOR LINEBACKERS. SURE HOPE WE CAN FIND THESE GUYS IN THE PORTAL SOON.

    1. 300 pound offensive linemen with a junkyard attitude don’t grow on trees, George, that is why they are more coveted than any other players aside from quarterbacks.

    2. USC will be a top destination for transfers again after spring camp. Riley is broadcasting that USC is going to take players at every position in the hopes that some players enter the TP and we can snag them.

But let’s just admit that we are probably going to go into this season with a D-line that needs a little more and an o-line that lacks the depth we really want.

This is a process and LR and staff are doing it right, but a turn-around in the first year will probably still leave them a little short of where they wan to be. But a Pac-12 championship can be within reach. We just wont be at the level of CFP play yet.

  3. Douglass was 250 something coming out of HS, who played at Harvard-Westlake, now he is 315 and way too big at that weight. He is a 5th year player, spent most of his time on the bench, good decision for him to go elsewhere.

  4. They probably asked him to leave too. SC is hurting(depthwise) for O-Linemen. He had a chance to play because of SC’s lack of depth. O-Linemen are frequently injured. Why would he leave voluntarily?
