USC Notes: Any More Transfers Coming?

What’s the countdown on whether Boogie Ellis enters the transfer portal? Would he really sit out a season at another school?

There was some confusion over his role in the Miami game when he played only 13 minutes. It looked like he might have had an injury but CBS said he was OK. USC looks light at guard right now so Ellis is definitely needed for next year.

  • USC is recruiting sophomore Fardaws Aimaq, who averaged 18.9 points and 13.6 rebounds at Utah Valley. He had 15 points and 15 rebounds vs. Washington this season.
  • Four-star tight end Walker Lyons of Folsom, Calif., will visit USC next month.
  • Here’s the complete results from USC Pro Day. Offensive tackle Liam Jimmons had just 17 reps on the benchpress.

    1. Even if your facts were right , which they’re not don’t you see that your very words themselves are racist ? Think about it sir tebowobama.

    2. Tebow you want to deal in facts? That’s great stick to them. Fact is you wouldn’t make a pimple on the ass of a true troll. Trolls rag on a player and discuss the way they play. Racists don’t see abilities they see race. I was set to drop a list of players on you and show you that you’re wrong, but I realized it was a waste of time.
A true fact is that we are amused by trolls but racism has no place on this blog. The only race I see on the football field is human. I might be okay with an occasional kicking mule or a dog named Bud who can catch a pass, but closed minded racists are missing the essential sense that is required to be human. Post all you want, but I don’t think I’ll read your drivel. It’s too easy to scroll past.

      1. So true, he hides behind a keyboard and thinks he is entertaining when in actuality he is just an asshole with a little dick and his BS on here makes him feel manly. But then I quit reading anything he posts.

  1. Boogie wants some of that NBA money, but he must realize he needs another year of college seasoning to have a chance. So he will wait out another year, but no way he waits out 2. If he does not make the mistake of declaring for the NBA this year, he will be a Trojan next season.

To the occasional incessant hecklers on the blog, I quote James Worthy’s comments about how to handle such crude beings:
“If a guy is ragging on you during a game, ignore him, and you win. Engage him, and you lose.”

  2. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MANY FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS WE HAVE AVAILABLE TO GIVE OUT THIS YEAR MG SAYS WE SHOULD HAVE 85 AND HE IS RIGHT OF COURSE. I COUNT 25+7 OR 32 IF I READ THE NCAA RULES RIGHT BUT AM NOT SURE. DOES ANYONE KNOW. I AM EXCLUDING GRAYSHIRTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT

    1. I believe they can bring on 32 more players. Although there will probably be more transfers at the end of spring so that number could go up. Either way plenty of space for talent that is also willing to work and not just trying to live the life of 70’s bodybuilders walking the Santa Monica pier all day with no shirt on.

      1. THANX. JON GRUDEN SAID HE MISSED THE DAYS WHEN HE COULD WALK ON THE SANTA MONICA PIER WITH HIS SHIRT OFF. BACK TO SCHOLARSHIPS. THE RULE I SAW WAS YOU COULD ADD SEVEN IF YOU HAD SEVEN OR MORE GUYS TRANSFER OUT. SO. ARE WE CAPPED AT 32 ?? I DUNNO BUT WE NEED A LOT MORE HELP RIGHT NOW

      1. HI SO CAL. YEAH THAT WAS THE RULE ALRIGHT BUT WHEN KIDS STARTED TRANSFERRING OUT IN LARGE NUMBERS RECENTLY THE NCAA SAID THAT IN ADDITION TO THE TWENTY FIVEE SCHOOLS COULD ADD UP TO SEVEN MORE PROVIDING THEY LOST SEVEN OR MORE TO THE PORTAL AND HAVE ROOM UNDER THE 85 LIMIT RULE. SO FAR RILEY HAS GIVEN OUT EIGHT TO HIGH SCHOOL KIDS AND THIRTEEN TO TRANSFERS FOR A TOTAL OF TWENTY ONE AND WANTS TO GIVE OUT DOUBLE DIGITS MORE

      2. The mid-year transfers can be “backdated”, where they don’t count against the 25. So all that USC has so far is the 8 or so high school recruits that count against the 25.

  3. So Ingram is stronger than the people blocking for him? 23 reps is pretty impressive for an RB. The rest of these underachiever’s couldn’t make it through a planet fitness workout 😂😂
Why is Drake Jackson so afraid to work out? He seemed to have a lot to say before the season started. Whatever happened to the Gary Cooper type?

    1. Back in the Pete Carroll days the Trojans had a kicked who did 25 reps of 225 at the combine.

Can’t remember his name, David his last name started with a “B”, Buehler maybe. Ended up getting drafted by the Cowboys.

    1. Can’t help you with that one, George, but it does seem draconian to coax a star high schooler to your college, and then if he does not pan out, revoke his scholarship.

      1. Here’s how the Helton recruiting ‘formula’ plays out — make lots of big promises about competing for championships to young recruits, allow them to float once they come aboard, let the new guy get rid of them.

    1. Don’t worry about it, George. To normal people, they’re just letters.

Only to dweebs who spend half their lives online or gaming is it “yelling”.

  5. I mean 32 should be enough because you just primarily need help on defense. For the love of god no more receivers or running backs. Just a nasty O linemen or 2 and offense is set. USC needs 5 D linemen at least and 5 or 6 linebackers. I did not realize how bad Goforth was. Geez you better hope Lee is ready at MLB.
