USC Morning Buzz: So Many Questions For Duce Robinson

The Major League Baseball draft begins today and the question for USC fans is whether tight end Duce Robinson gets selected.

Or maybe more importantly, whether a team works out a deal with Robinson so he can play both sports. Robinson wants to play football and baseball.

But just how high his baseball stock is remains to be seen. A year ago it seemed sky high. Lately, it’s harder to tell. The fact he plays football probably turns off some teams. But if he wants to play at a price deemed reasonable by a pro team, something will likely be worked out.

How exactly will this work? Will he try to play for a minor-league team this summer? USC starts football training camp in late July. Does he want to miss part of training camp? There’s a lot of questions regarding Robinson and his baseball career.

The draft goes through Tuesday so stay tuned.

  1. Duce Robinson, that girl willl probably have the ball thrown to her around 25 times this year if she sticks with ‘Ol Mule Shoe, she ain’t too bright.

  2. ‘Ol Mule Shoe said of his boyfriend Alex Grinch, “He’s a personable guy and has an outstanding track record in that area. It’s something he’s very invested in and he fits with the standard that we’ve created here”

    “very personable”, huh?

‘Ol Mule Shoe didn’t state that Grinch could coach worth a shit, just that he’s “very personable”

LOL! That should tell you all you need to know about Grinch and why the Ladies of Troy defense sucked last season and why it will continue to suck this season when going up against quality teams.

    1. I added “very” to ‘Ol Mule Shoe’s assessment of his boyfriend Alex Grinch because you can tell that’s where he was going with it.

This clown Grinch is in way over his head, he’s lucky in the sense that his boyfriend ‘Ol Mule Shoe is more than willing to hold his hand this season, helping his know nothing ass to call the defense.

  3. Good for Duce. I hope he has a huge USC football career. But, if he can become a serious pro baseball player, he should, as there is potential for longer and a better career.

Also, it was nice to not have to scroll through all of the wasted space taken up by Gabby and friends. My vote is they stop or go away.

  4. Every time one of these kids tries to be a part time pro baseball player it never works out. The latest case was Kyler Murray when he signed with A’s. He ended up giving back his signing bonus when he went to the NFL.

  5. Give baseball a shot, Duce, get it out of your system,
but your future (and pocketbook) lies in football
Or ask Michael Jordan how difficult the curve ball is to hit

      1. Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders come to mind. They actually had success in both sports at the professional level. I recall Bo Jackson throwing a baseball from the center field fence, without a bounce, to a waiting catcher. Bo struck out one time and in a fit of anger, took the bat and snapped over his thigh like a toothpick.

    1. Looks like you’re a new member of the blog, welcome! I have been frequenting different versions of this blog, going back to the days of Michael Lev. I guess you could label me an OG.

If you choose to rest in a fetal position and have a maniac punch-down on you then more power to you. May I suggest some of Dave Chappelle’s philosophy, nothing personal?

    2. Gabby knows football —but every time he tries to convince us that two plus two equals five [politically] he loses credibility. And he started the physical threats —nobody ever did that here before. I don’t know why he went there but it’s gotta stop. We’re all sick of it.
Old Gabby, come back. We’ll be good to you.

You have a great football intellect, it goes back before my days. I have grasped a lot of knowledge from you old farts. GT goes way back(hope you’re feeling well, George!)

I have a stalker who enjoys attacking me with lame Biden tropes and instigating violence, with repeated questions about why I avoid fighting a couple blog members. This BS has knocked me off the rails, I admit. If the animosity between gotyor and me can chill out, I’ll be able to get the engine back on the rails.

There are two sides to the issue and the person on the other side needs to relax and avoid instigating, In return, my blog etiquette will greatly improve.

The political bantering has heated up and it must cool down to almost none.

Wow. What are the odds we have 3 regular bloggers attend the 1968 Rose Bowl. I worked with a guy in 1982 who was a cornerback on the Indiana team. I asked him what was his impression of O.J. Simpson. He said “yeah, I meet him in the hole, helmet first, left my impression on him.”

    1. School, football, and baseball, that’s a lot on this plate. One of the three will suffer. If you’re not a superstar out of the gate with baseball, you can spin your wheels in the minors for many years.
