USC Notes: Quiet Day On Campus (So Far)

All-Pac-12 guard Talia von Oelhoffen of Oregon State has committed to USC. She is expected to start at point guard for the Trojans.

It’s going to be interesting next season to see USC because they now have enough talent that they won’t need JuJu Watkins to shoot 22 times a game.

Here is a potential starting lineup:

PG: Talia von Oelhoffen (All-Pac-12)

SG: JuJu Watkins (All-Pac-12)

SF: Kennedy Smith (5-star freshman)

PF: Kiki Iriafen (All-Pac-12)

C: Rayah Marshall

  • It’s been pretty quiet at USC’s Alumni Park today.

  • Protestors comprised of USC graduate-student workers showed up at Carol Folt’s house this morning. No word on if she was there.

  1. Why does USC allow encampments. The right to free speech does not entail possession of the land. The University of Florida laid down the law on this topic, it said that students could peaceably protest but no megaphones and no blocking entrances or otherwise disrupting classes. They further stated no encampments, no tents and no sleeping bags and if students did not disburse at 9:00 p.m, each evening they would be arrested and subject to a three year suspension from the school for disobeying the rules of protesting. What do ya know, U of F has not had any problems. Hey Carol, there is a way to do this.

  2. All’s quiet on the “Western Front,” huh, well the problem is that the Repubs almost unanimously back Israel where the Demos aren’t always sure as they chant,

“Hey Israel, it is an ‘eye for an eye’ not ‘2-eyes for an eye'”

    1. You’re the usual anti-semite for 2024 – masquerading the barely veiled contempt for Jews by hiding behind ‘Israelis’ as the ‘reason’.

I don’t give a ‘blank’ about any Arab Muslim – they’ve contributed nothing for 1500 years save idiocy and fanaticism. Just sorry the crusades didn’t crush them more thoroughly in the 13th century rather than let the insects carve its’ mandible all the way to Vienna and be thrown back by the Polish Hussars in 1683. Note all the fat ugly white females in tow….kind of a drag when the ‘bio’ clock already rang and nothing to show for your choices except envy and loneliness

  4. Does anybody get the feeling the protesting students have 1. No idea how this started and not aware of the gruesome acts on Israeli children raped and beheaded, plus all the hostages still in captivity and beaten daily and 2. The collage professors now 99% radicalized ideologues that pound the students with antisemitism and hate and 3. the obvious paid professional organization of the encampments as we saw with the 2020 riots, with a thumbs up from our government.

    1. …Please add this, Ivehadit: ANY Palestinian who went on record as being against the violent tactics of Hamas would be instantly murdered by Hamas…. and they’d probably televise the execution for educational value….

    2. same script from 55 yrs ago…i.e. Vietnam. Thanks to the demoncrats, the MSM and William Westmorland a war that we were winning was one we ‘lost’.

worsteas that pompous bloated egomaniac Walter Cronkite bragging how he fully intended to declare we were losing the war.

  5. LJ says nobody ever won a war with an “eye for an eye” philosophy. That adage was for individuals, not countries. Japan killed 2,200 Americans in their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. We killed over 3 million Japanese., including many civilians. How many German civilians did we kill? We blew up Dresden when it had very little strategic importance. We lost 3000 people on 9/11. How many people did we kill in Afghanistan and Iraq. Probably upwards of 100,000, mostly civilians.

Hamas targeted Israeli civilians and raped and killed them, about 1400. Where is the outrage on college campuses! Israel does everything they can to limit casualties in Gaza but Hamas uses civilians as human shields even putting their headquarters in the largest civilian hospital and firing rockets from apartment buildings. C’mon John get informed before you blast the Israelis.  And don’t trust the reported numbers of civilian casualties coming out of Gaza. These are provided by Hamas.

      1. I like John….but… he really doesn’t understand world politics. According to numerous press reports, leaders “threatening to protect their OWN borders by force” are going to be turned over to the world court for war crimes if they follow through. Unlike the USA, Russia, Italy, Hungary and Israel [I’d include England but their Parliament acts as though Brexit never happened] have announced the intention to protect their sovereignty —so I guess a lot of world leaders are gonna be tried, convicted and imprisoned soon. Is this what you really want, John?

      2. Agreed. The last few dozen remarks attributed to him don’t remotely sound like the Lawyer John we’ve enjoyed reading for years….
