To be honest I wonder how long the magician supposed to keep up the illusion? Pete’s enthusiasm was contagious to a young team, but once the magic wears off, it becomes less effective.
I don’t think the program suffered under Pete Carroll, but the players were gone in 2 to 3 years with new ones coming in to learn the tricks. Now he has hired hands who don’t really care as much about the game. Many pro players have reached their goal and do not see a reason to push.
