The Biletnikoff Award announced its watch list this morning, which normally means I get to make fun of the fact it forgot to list Marqise Lee on its watch list the year he won the award.
But then I saw this morning’s list, which did not include USC wide receiver Tyler Vaughns, who seemed a natural candidate. Remember, watch lists are meaningless and usually throw more players on them than necessary.
But Vaughns not being included has to be a mild surprise. Until you consider we are talking about the Biletnikoff Award.
Here is who did make it:

Vaughn’s is better than 99.9% of those guys. The guy can catch. Also Scooter, you forgot Pittman, he is no slouch either.

I thought the reason you posted was to make fun of David Sills being on it. But the list itself has me saying who(?) more times than an owl at a rap concert put on by said owl.

Lee was added the day after the list came out when they realized their mistake. I guess my question would be: how many times has an athlete not included on an initial watch list won the award? Not many, I’d imagine.

Old Trojan Never Dies,
You explained how I felt so clearly and perfectly. WHOOOOOOOO, WHHOOOOOOOOOO, WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO are on the list? I see one or two that I would give creedence to and that would be the Stanford, Cal, and ASU receivers. I know the PAC 12 is pass happy and you have to have good receivers to play in the league. That is a tribute to the PAC 12 to have 3 receivers, but there should have been more of them because of the quality of the pass game in the PAC 12 is superior to that of the other leagues.
