USC Video Of The Day

I’m no Steve Clarkson but I can’t say this video does much for me.

  1. Here are some comparisons with other QBs at the same drill:

Daniels appears to be slower. But there is a caveat in comparing across videos, as Daniels seems to be taking longer stutter steps than the other guys.

    1. I am a huge J. T. Daniels supporter [and I saw him perform this drill with a lot more dexterity LAST year—with a qb coach who didn’t even teach footwork] —- here he actually looks like he’s regressed — to run Graham’s offense he needs faster feet…..

      1. In high school, he looked the part. This video kind of exposes him and his weakness: he’s heavy footed and puts too much weight on his back foot. He can still have a big year, but can’t play scared like last year.

      2. Sharp analysis, Arturo. Everybody I ever boxed had a bigger punch than me — if my feet were as heavy as what we saw in J. T.’s video I literally would have gotten killed.
What was Ellis teaching J.T. last year?

      3. P. S.
Nobody looked better in these drills than Cody Kessler and Max Browne. So I guess drills like this aren’t perfect predictors of escapability…..

  2. You’re going to need as much escape footwork as possible with USC’s poorly coached OL!!
Practice getting out of the pocket ASAP!!
Maybe try rolling out to get more time?

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Oh my side hurts from laughing so much!

        Good One!

  3. Trojan football players have been saying and telling Helton that Sears is the better QB, but Helton will insist on starting his little porn-stache pet J.T. Daniels…USC football is a dumpster fire.

    1. Lie perpetuated by this blog. While there are no doubt many who want Sears, I’ve never heard anyone, anywhere, other than this blog that report the players want Sears. And although SW can be great entertainment with his ability to push buttons, he is definitely not a go to source for anything inside USC.

      1. Scott knows there’s nothing better than a qb controversy ….

      2. Scott exposes himself- I know I just used this phrase- as someone who knows little about player camaraderie on a football team. These guys are trying to make the league, but there is nothing like killing yourself and putting it all on the line for your teammates, friends, and brothers. Conclusion: Players don’t backstab each other like a second rate reporter might just to scoop and embellish a fake news story. they have recruited each other and know that everyone on a team matters.

      3. Scott isn’t trying to report —he’s doing what he does: generate controversy by hook or crook. But you make a great point, Arturo —the ONE thing Coach Helton has done supremely well is mold this crew into a tight family. It’s unlikely in the extreme that they’re spending any of the preseason undermining each other.

    2. Trojan football players informing Helton that they would rather have Jack Sears as the starting QB was also expressed on the Petros and Money Show.

      1. Petros and money are equal liars. They are in the clown car with Scott. Show me a real reporter who covers them that reports this and I will believe it.

  5. Brumby,

When Petros gets serious about football anaylsis, he is second to none. He is very good at that. He is very knowledgeable in reading as well.

    1. Petros is [and has always been] a lot of fun, a true hardcore individual. But he bets on the wrong horse an awful lot of the time……
