Clay Helton Wins Dodd Trophy Coach Of The Week

Clay Helton beat No. 10-ranked Utah and got rewarded by being named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week.

I guess Brent Brennan of San Jose State was undeserving after winning at Arkansas, 31-24. San Jose State was only 3-22 the previous two seasons.

But Helton, with more talent on his roster than Utah, won a home game on Fox Sports with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart celebrating in the end zone.

  6. Bryce Young will be in the transfer portal within 2 years. ( Either he or Tua’s younger bro). The good thing is that it’ll be easy to declare some kind of hardship in Tuscaloosa and he will be immediately eligible.

    He will transfer to a Cali school once it becomes legal to pay college football players.

    The SEC has a few more teams than the PAC12 and a much larger population. With Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, and South Carolina within its boundaries, not to mention a large African – American population, the SEC region produces much more D1 talent than any other region. Add in the fact that the U and FSU are stinking it up and that the SEC also has free reign in FL., no one else will come close to competing.

    1. This is largely why I think USC needs to consider realignment with members of the Big 12. The things you’re talking about are only going to get worse in the years to come. USC fans myopically think the magic is all about the uniform when it’s really all about the people in it.

  13. I don’t mind Helton, but why does Helton get credit for Utah’s gross, offensive, piss poor FB game performance. If Utah didn’t fire the OC, they should have.
