The New York Jets traded former USC star Leonard Williams to the New York Giants for a third round draft choice this year and fifth-round pick in 2021.

Williams’ stock has fallen and he is in the last year of his contract so the Jets.

    1. They have won one division championship since the AFL-NFL merger 50 years ago…and that took Parcells/Belichick/Weiss to achieve…definitely in the running for worst major sports franchise…the Padres have been to two World Series during that time…the Cardinals to a Super Bowl and 2 NFC Championship Games…

      1. Yes, the Jets are a chronic dumpster fire that the NFL is unable to put out. The Jets should be in receivership. It is a miracle that Sam is doing as well as he is with that sh*tshow of a team.

      2. Absolutely.

I thought (which shows what many of my thoughts are worth) this year they were showing signs of turning the corner as an organization, but when you hire an unremarkable coach – yes, obligatory cheap shot coming up – though he has experience with that…

Well, hopefully he won’t have his entire career wasted (either they get it fixed there, or he has a Plunkett-like later career elsewhere)…

      3. James, fingers crossed for Sam. He (and the other Jets) deserve so much more.

As I told owns yesterday when he was denigrating Sam, just imagine what QB rating that Rosen (currently 19 on the season) would have if he was on the Jets.

        WAAAAY below zero

      4. 67 & James — And let’s not fail to consider the other side of the coin: Sam was happy to go to the Jets to get away from Helton and Ellis….

      1. In fairness to Freddie he did say later that he was just “playing along with Leno” and that he knew the first president was actually Charlton Heston.

      2. Really ’67, are you spit shinning Lenny’s ride? I’m shocked, I thought that kind of service is way above your pay grade.

BTW FB expert, whenever I need a visual representation of the fullness of a bozo u education, I just google OJ’s suicide note – scribble, scribble, scratch, scratch, scribble, scribble printing.

  1. Sam was so happy to get away he never worked on his turnover game. I told my bro he would be a disaster in the NFL if he left early because he is a turnover machine. He averages like 2 or 3 game even when he was at usc. I know he did some great things for USC in that 2026 Rosebowl victory. But you can’t hide his flaws. You must be at least a game manager to give your team a chance to win in the NFL.

    1. A lot of Sam’s problems could have been corrected with another year of college ball…. and he knew it….but he also knew that another year would mean another year of looking at Clay Helton on the sidelines……

  2. Im not suprised Leonard Williams got traded. I watched him on Monday night against New England. He played like 2 series then hardly played the rest of the game. I don’t know if its the defense they run or it’s the player’s around him. But he was like non existent on defense no where near the ball during plays. I was hopeing he got traded to the Raiders because he said he was a fan growing up. I think he would be a good fit there in Oakland.

  3. at Trojan 67 how did he take one for the team when Helton is still the head coach 2.5 years later? That doesn’t make any sense. Oh yeah Lynn Swan, never mind I answered it for you. Enough said!
