Another Reason USC Is Struggling

I heard several USC coaches were arguing with special teams coach John Baxter during the Oregon game.

Why? Because Baxter was trying to play starters, who were less than 100 percent, on special teams.

This is what happens when Clay Helton gives so much authority to Baxter. And it’s one reason Helton is likely going to lose his job.

  1. Ha! Baxter, as the mad Col. Nicholson in “Bridge Over The River Kwai”, trying to get the wounded British soldiers out of bed to help the Japanese finish their doomed bridge on time….

    1. Neil Sedaka tried to warn us about Carol Folt years ago…

      Oh Carol
      I am but a fool
Darling I love though you treat me cruel
You hurt me and you make me cry
But if you leave me I will surely die
Darling there will never be another
      ‘Cause I love you so
      Don’t ever leave me
      Say you’ll never go
I will always want you for my sweet heart
      No matter what you do
Oh Carol I’m still in love with you

  2. Anyone else notice how Meyer has yet to come out like Stoops and make it publicly clear that he is not a candidate at any of the schools with an opening? Obviously USC doesn’t have an “opening” yet, but we all know what’s coming…

      1. That Helton’s done? That’s all I know – or think. Just funny that on top of that Meyer hasn’t publicly come out to deny any rumors like Stoops did when he put his rumors quickly bed.

      2. 04 —I was hoping the thing that everybody [but me] ‘knew’ was that Meyer actually IS gonna be our coach…..

  3. There once was a coach named Clay,
Who only allowed his favorites to play
    With no grasp of football
    Would soon be his downfall
He’ll be out of a job by Sunday
