USC Morning Buzz: Notre Dame Loses Influential Figure

Notre Dame offensive line coach Harry Hiestand has announced his retirement.

This is considered a big loss in coaching circles because Hiestand was an influential figure during two stints at Notre Dame (2012-17; 2022). He was a graduate assistant at USC in 1987-88.

Among the offensive linemen he coached at Notre Dame were Zack Nelson (Cowboys), Quenton Nelson (Colts), Nick Martin (Raiders) and Mike McGlinchey (49ers).

About that call… the player who grabbed the jersey, admitted it was holding, saying “ I hoped they would let it slide.” Three people knew it was the right call, the ref, the receiver and the defender. Also someone complained about the pass being uncatchable, but that only comes with pass interference, the call was holding.
    Finally we (me included) have become so reliant on the talking heads, that we don’t examine their motives for declaring the penalty bogus. I have never been able to see this fact because I only watch USC football and the announcers always agree with me.
    Not having a stake in the game, made it easier to see the call as correct. The field goal at the end was good strategy played too slowly. I thought, what if they fumbled on the next play or what if they were Helton’s SC and couldn’t score inside the 20. But again not really caring I saw it as a solid football move.

    When originzations, govts, terrioists are attacking my faith, my country, or me, things get dirty. The govt of China is attacking our country by invading, stealing, and poisining it with covid. so feathers get ruffled. However, when they are people with not harm to that, then it is a different story. I was taught to protect the things that matter to me. Christ did when he turned Lucifer into Satan and the angels became demons. Yet we are to pray for these people as well. I also use ruskies, but i have not said krauts or nips. The reason I don’t use those because they are friends of the US.
