Ryan Pellum Commits To USC

UPDATED: What a wait. It came after an interminible 40-minute wait thanks to a endless pre-announcement show from 247 that revealed next to nothing.

There was a twist as Ryan Pellum made the announcement by showing his baby son wearing a USC shirt.

  • Ryan Pellum, the wide receiver at Long Beach Millikan, should commit at 2 p.m. PT.

Naturally, it is getting stretched out and there’s been no announcement at 2:20 p.m.

I’ll be updating this post as his commitment nears along with some other notes.

  • USC announced point guard Isaiah Collier, the top-ranked freshman in the nation, will wear No. 1. Of course, they had to announce Bronny first.
  • This is typical Arizona. Jedd the Fisch has been piling up two-and-three stars and even some zero-star commitments in June. So where does four-star defensive lineman Noah Carter, who is from Arizona, commit today? Washington!
  • UCLA assistant coach Ivo Simovic is finalizing deal to join the Toronto Raptors. This is significant because Simovic has been hugely responsible for the influx of international players in the Bruins’ recruiting.

    3. I recall PC having 10 HS All-American RBs on the roster at one time. Which eventually led to some transferring out.

  2. Pellum has offers from everywhere – Ohio St, Michigan, Bama, Georgia, LSU, ND. He is a 2024 commit, and a few USC WRs will be gone after this year.

  7. Looks like we will have quite a WR hauls back to back, especially if Miller commits. Assuming that Mario Williams, Rice, Singer, Washington all declare which I believe they will. That’s going to be scary quartet with Robinson Branch Lemon Miller Pellum Mathews Lane and gadget R. Brown too much size and speed. Every Big defense will shit in there pants trying to gaurd 6-7, 6-6, 6-5 then trying focus on Branch Brown Lemon Miller Pellum in space the slow footed teams like Wisc Iwoa won’t be able to keep up. The question will be who is the DC? Stay tuned I’m sure it will be another DC besides Grinch really not seeing unless defense makes a big jump. Will Alexander be the run stopper we need, Lucas be the edge rusher who constantly creates pressure. Will the LBs hit the gaps to stop the run in the backfield for TL. Can the DBs take advantage of the expected front seven talent advantage. We will find out by the 1st WAC 12 game. If other players on defense play up to their strengths. Grinchy will be retained if all those things happen. With all the upgrades on defense this could be a great defense this year.   13. The thing is Libraries are book lenders, not book repositories. At USC the library holds hard to find books and research materials. When a student needs a book they buy it, so they don’t need to go to the stockpiles of used books. This gives the student the ability to access the information years after they first acquire the knowledge in the book.
    Saying the number of books in a library makes the school great is like saying the number of letters in the alphabet makes the language easier to learn. There really is no correlation. If you don’t believe me look at the library of Congress has the numbers of books therein made the members any smarter?
